I am trying to book a 6 weeks trip to Singapore and there are only 2 timing available.
2.15AM departing
or
9.10AM departing.
My baby will be 4 months at the time of my planned travel.
Pros and Cons?

I think it depends on how easily your baby falls asleep in different places...
We did a night flight and a day flight (about 7 hours) with our little one at 7 months of age. The night flight was so stressful for me because I knew he needed to sleep but he kept getting distracted by everything going on in the plane (and annoying people who kept trying to talk to him while I was trying to settle him!!!). So I spent most of the flight trying to get him to sleep and stay asleep and I got about 5 minutes of shut-eye myself
So I preferred the day flight because I wasn't stressed about whether he slept or not and we could all go to sleep once we got to our destination at night![]()
I agree, it kinda depends on what your bub is used to, and you know him/her the best. I travel back and forth between the states with my little ones (14hour flight) and when they were under 12 months and nursing, I pretty much became a human pacifier but it kept them happy and they slept and were calm for the entire flight.
I also used earplanes (ear plugs made for adults and little ones) since most upset babies are crying from ear pressure. Both boys do great with them on all flights and we made sure to practice at home so it wasnt something weird going in their ears the day OF the flight. We also bought new books and little toys to play with so they had something to distract them. At that young age tho, I think nursing is your best bet or sucking on something. The sucking motion will actually take the place of the ear plugs too.
Good luck![]()
we are looking for an evening flight
plan is to depart at dinner time, arrive at midnight then sleep till 10am (which she will do if we are up late)
Who are you flying with?
honestly I would say daytime flight. Mostly because then at least you should both hopefully be rested when you depart and fellow passengers shouldn't be as grumpy with a baby who "may" make some occasional noises if it's during the day than they would at night.
I used to fly from Darwin to Brisbane and back with the DD and then with the 2 kids and for my 2 the middle of the night was much better as they had had some sleep before then into the car (often slept on the way to the airport) then they would usually sleep once we are on the plane too -yes they didn't get as much as if they were in a bed but usually they were pretty settled esp when they were tiny as I just BF on take of and landing (and as it was a 4 hr flight the timing was great) and they just kipped! I miss those days!![]()
