Who's ready to kick some major infertility tail? Aug/Sept/Oct

I'm in the mood to kick infertility's A$$! Who's with me?

I don't know about you, but I'm sick and tired of letting infertility boss me around. I'm ready to give it a what for. My journey began many years ago. Finally after years of not getting pregnant naturally, we decided to turn to IVF. I've endured 7 surgeries in just the last 4 years, one of which was a heart ablation surgery to treat SVT so I could have surgeries for stage 4 endo, hydrosalpinx, and a bicornuate uterus. I've gone through 2 fresh cycles (1 -cornual ectopic that ended in a ruptured uterus 2 - DD) and 2 frozen transfers (both BFN). After the second negative frozen cycle I decided enough was enough. If I'm going through another cycle again, I'm going to put the odds in my favor this time. So as long as all goes well, sometime in September we're planning to transfer to myself and to my sister (gestational carrier). My sister and I are ready to KICK SOME SERIOUS A$$!!!!

While I realize that my cycle is a little out of the norm, I know that there are others out there getting ready to cycle who are in a similar frame of mind and ready to put infertility in it's place. If you're one of them, please join me. Let's not let infertility kick us around, instead let's KICK IT'S A$$!!!!

Hi Forever, I just wanted to say that your post really made me smile! Love your attitude and hope the double-pronged attacked with you & your sis gets you off the infertility & IVF train for good. We may end up cycle buddies, I'll be doing a FET sometime in Sep and that will be my 5th transfer.

No idea exactly when as I'll have to wait for this damn m/c to finish, my AF to return, and the big cyst to go down. It'll be my 5th transfer too!

In the meantime, I'm back on the DHEA, have just received my Bodytrim Plus pack (to lose some weight) and am pleased to report that with 2 weeks to go, my bridesmaid dress fits.

Forever - I'd forgotten how much you'd gone through. J3 really is a miracle! We'll be sending some Sydney baby vibes across the pacific xx

Lindylou - how are you going?

I've not been in work this week so while DS was in daycare I shopped for nice things (make up, clothes, candles) and cleared 2 bags of old clothes out of my wardrobe and off to the charity shop. Therapy of sorts!

Yay to forever for leading the charge so positively. Let's get making some babies!!

Lindylou - It would be fun to have a cycle buddy. I hope our cycles are close together. Are you going for bubs # 1 or sibblings? I see you changed clinics. What's the story there?

Lola - HUGE, HUGE HUGS!!!! I hate that this last cycle didn't work out. And a miscarriage even makes it harder. When I saw that you were miscarring I wantedto hop on a plane and be there for you. I so wish we weren't thousands of miles apart. Your numbers seem to be dropping fast so I think you will be cycling soon. I'm with you no matter when that is though.

Forever- LOL at "Johnny 5 is alive!" What a blast from the past, I loved that movie when I was a kid (Short Circuit I think its called?). We are still TTC #1. The clinic change is a long story, hope you've got a cuppa . We had 3 failed cycles at our old clinic, where we repeatedly got told that I was 'fine' and our issues were purely MFI. At my request from my own research, I asked our FS for a long list of BTs, which she agreed to, but gave me the "Google is a specialists worst nightmare" speech. I also wanted NK cell biopsy, but got declined on that one. I just couldn't keep going without investigating all possible avenues for implantation failure. All our transfers were high quality blasties, the last being a double FET. How could 0/4 blasts not even attempt to implant?? Anyways, the BTs showed I had sky-high thyroid antibodies. FS still said it wasn't a problem 'cos TSH was good. I disagreed and went back to my regular GP. GP referred me to an endocrinologist, who diagnosed my Hashimotos and put me on meds. The endocrinologist then referred me to a new FS who would take my thyroid disease seriously and do the NK cell biopsy. New FS did the holy trinity lap/hyst/biopsy, and turned out I had quite extensive endo lurking in there. NK cells were negative, so that was reassuring. Went straight into a new cycle with the new FS and finally get a BFP, albeit a chem pg. So transfer #5 here we come... it IS so bizarre we are all up to #5. Must be a good omen .

I see you're from TX, are you American or an Aussie living over there? You sure had a rough trot with all those surgeries, so happy you got your DD to make it all worthwhile.

Lola- hey Sydney buddy! I hear good things about Bodytrim, just make sure you don't steal the bride's thunder a la Pippa Middleton . Retail therapy and wardrobe clean out sounds fab. Sounds like you and Forever are already acquainted?

AFM- heading back to the gym tonight, yay! I've done no exercise since my lap in June and I've really missed it. I do a boot-camp style group class and its lots of fun. Luckily got through the last cycle without gaining weight, so its just a matter of getting my strength & fitness back where it was.

I am hoping to do a FET in either late Oct or Nov. Was supposed to do a FET next month but I got a needle stick injury at work and have to wait 3 months before we do another cycle.

I think your attitudes are amazing and hopefully one day mine might be to. I feel quiet emotional atm I had a very early miscarriage a couple of weeks ago, yesterday was my birthday and if my plans had turned out how I wanted them to, I would at least be pregnant by bow. Huge pity party being held at my house if anyone wants to join!

The plan for the next couple of months is to get healthy, lose some IVF weight and start enjoying life again.

How do you girls stay so positive?

Hi Puffsgirl . Happy belated b'day for Sunday! I remember you from the MFI thread a while back. Sorry to hear of your early M/C, the very same thing just happened to me and I got AF on 19/7, which was 2 days before my b'day. Sucks that we both got lousy b'day pressies from the fertility gods! I had a big 'ol pity party too.

The needle stick injury sounds scary! I hope nothing nasty has been passed onto you . Great idea to use the waiting time constructively. This thread might give you some inspiration too: http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/f...efore-children

As for staying positive, my spirits have been lifted after changing clinics and finding an FS that has effectively given me a clean slate to start from. Although our 1st BFP wasn't sticky, at least we finally had confirmed implantation. I now have a new confidence that the next embie will easily pick up where the last one left off . Things aren't happening as quickly as we imagined, but at least we have forward progression, and each transfer brings fresh hope that we are closer to finding our perfect sticky bub!

With 10 embies on ice and a recent chem pg, you have every reason to believe you'll be UTD soon!

Hi puffs,
Wow, getting a needlestick injury sucks! So unfair when you're struggling with sub-fertility too!

Don't worry, we've all been around for a while and we definitely aren't always so positive!
I'm just finishing my first m/c, which was over 9 weeks along and had seen a heartbeat. Never thought I'd be in that 5%!
most of the time I'm ok but occasionally something catches me off guard and I get a bit emotional. It's only natural. My baby would have been due around my birthday.
I find being on bh a big support as you know there are people who really understand what you're going through.

I'm planning to lose some weight before I cycle too and I'm not sure when that will be as I have a big cyst.

Lindylou - A Happy Belated Birthday to you!

I got the go ahead today from my FS to do my first FET in October. Until then I plan to eat better and start going to the gym,which I am weirdly looking forward to! I am hoping by then that my body will be back to normal and I won't be so stressed!

I hope everyone gets a BFP very soon!

Lola- how awesome to meet an overseas Bubhubber in person and what a coincidence you guys are cycling together for #2! Must be nearly time for your UK trip, bon voyage and stay safe. How did the bodytrim go?

Puffsgirl- I have to ask, who is Ed?? Going to the gym will make you feel like a new woman, I go 3 times a week and its been 4 sessions since I went back. I've just started to feel like the spring is back in my step. Also, when you exercise it encourages you to eat better 'cos you know it just took 1/2hr to burn off a 40g giant freddo! October will come around fast, enjoy the last few months of being just you .

Forever- You've been quiet, hope all is well with you. Do you have frosties or will it be a full stim in Sep?

AFM- booked my next FS appt for Aug 26 to discuss FET in Sep. I want to have steroids thrown in this time as they're supposed to improve success rates in women with thyroid antibodies. I actually wanted it last cycle, but hoped the lap & biopsy made enough difference on their own. It bothers me that maybe our bub could have stuck if I was taking the prednisone and I don't want that feeling after a cycle ever again!
