    Default I quit!

I give up on this whole Bedtime/sleeping thru the night thing .. It's crap! It's never going to happen! We are nearing 3years of age and I feel like I have tries everything 10billion times and still no more sleep. We had 4 great weeks, only 2 or so wakes each a night, I was over the moon with that. It seems like we have gone back 3years now. Once the boys hit 6ishmonth they could go to sleep alone but would wake several times (10+ each child, every night!) it slowed up around 2 and now I feel like I have my newborn twins back ...
Won't self settle, won't even stay still long enough to go to sleep, won't stay asleep etc etc. Last night was a 6hr effort, in the end I left them
And went to bed (2am) .. They were still wide awake. Somedays they have an arvo nap, those nights are worse. Surely 4-5hours of solid sleep in a 24hr period isn't enough ?
F it I say ! I'm over it, I'm sick to death of trying!! Tonight it's been 2hrs and I'm going to bed! They can't hurt themselves anywhere, not that they leave their room. They have made such a mess they probs can't get to the door lol.

Vent over .. Going back to listening to them jump up and down.

Are you in melbs? Have you ever thought of going to sleep school? I went with DS2 when he was 13mths to tweedle and loooooooloved it. It worked so well for us.

Boy you sound like your struggling...I cant imagine. Have you tried calling a sleep school, it might be a good idea.

And my 2 cents is...for my kids, sleep = sleep. The more they sleep during the day the better they sleep at night. DD is 2.5 and she still has a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day. Id say they are so overtired they CANT sleep. I know its hard and i dont want to sound like a know it all, but routine is EVERYTHING to me...make nap and bed time the same EVERYDAY. Do you have a bedtime routine eg, dinner, bath, play, bed. 4-5 hours of sleep is definatly not enough IMO and id say thats your first problem.

I hope things get better for you!!!

Have you tried Lavender oil? Either a drop on either side of their pillows and/ or a diffuser somewhere they cant get to in their room? It may help.... but make sure if you get some its not the super market rubbish but a proper 100% therapeutic grade essential oil. Or you could sell them on ebay!!! I heard thats a new trend.

Lol I have considered eBay .. I put them on fb for sale, people were only interested if they got a refund offered lol.

Yeh we have a routine, generally same bed time, naps I've given up on now because it was such a nightmare and would always ruin the nighttime routine. You dont sound like a know all, I'm open to anything. Thank you

I'm allergic to lavender :| is there another oil to encourage sleep that you know of ? I did buy some sleep remedy spray $50 for a little 30ml bottle, it was crap LOL !
