    Default Coughing

My dd, 21 months, has been sick for a while. She has been dx with mild asthma, ear infections, etc. We are waiting to see a specialist, an ent and various other people.

Anyway, she has now cone down with the flu - and she also has the most horrible, barky cough that is causing her to vomit. She is struggling for breath too. I have just given her a dose of ventolin, but as usual it seems ineffective (her preventers normally is enough to control her asthma). She is smothered in vicks but I'm really worried about the cough.

Is this a normal part of the flu?? Or could it be something else???

    Yep steroids are generally given.

I think it is contagious? Only because if one of my kids has it I can bet my last dollar the other one gets it.

VERY contagious! We are just ending up a month of all 3 kids and me having it. Horrible stuff.
Only think that helped was the steroid medication Im afraid....

Its funny you say that because she got WORSE after I gave it to her. Normally nothing happens when she has her ventolin, but today thats when the coughing to the point of vomiting started.....
