    Default Advice on FF please...

I was just wondering if any of you just boil loads of water once, fill up the sterile bottles with it and use those throughout the day?

I'm thinking of getting a big sterilizer so that I can have about 5 bottles ready with water in the morning and use them for the day. At the moment I'm juggling with 2 bottles and microwave sterilizing bags - really good for travel BTW - but it feels like I'm washing and sterilizing all day long...

So, does the water stay good all day in a sterile sealed bottle you reckon? Or do I need to boil it fresh every time?

    Thanks

When DD was drinking lots of bottles through the day i was sterilzing all her bottles filling them with water and keeping them in the fridge... soooo much easier.

I was told that the bottle with water in it stays sterile for 8 hours on the bench and 24hrs in the fridge.

Yep thats what I have always done. Sterilise them & fill them with boiling water. Certainly saves a lot of time and energy thats for sure!

I used the Avent Microwave Steriliser to sterilise 4 bottles (the best invention on earth!) and would fill with boiled water. Let them cool on the bench for a bit and then pop them all in the fridge. So much more convenient. Doing it with only 2 bottles is hard. I would be buying at least another two bottles.

Ive always done that too. Clean all the bottles, fill with water, leave in the fridge, reheat and add the formula. Has always stayed fine and makes the day a little easier in terms of not washing all the time.

We have the Avent electric steriliser and do all the bottles in one go then fill them with water ready for the next 24 hour period. We don't keep them in the fridge. In fact, it has never occurred to me to keep them in the fridge when there's only water in them. Since the bottles are sterile, and there is boiled water in them, there is no bacteria in the water to "grow" when left sealed. We did it the same way with DS with no problems.
