Default When did your AF return?

DD is almost 8 months old and I still haven't had AF. She's BF, but also eating 3 meals a day.

I know I shouldn't complain, but it just seems weird.

For breastfeeding mothers, the average time for AF to return is around 14 months. It just depends on the person though, I know fully breastfeeding, feeding two hourly mothers who has AF return at 5 months!

Mine returned at 13 months and I was (am) still breastfeeding.

After my first, AF returned at 7.5months. At the time I was breastfeeding 3-4 times a day. After my 2nd, AF returned at 5 months when I was still feeding 3 hourly. So different both times for me.

I'll stop thinking about it then. Thanks heaps for your responses.

Just another quick question: should I be using birth control for the very rare occasion? Or are the chances very slim?
It wouldn't be the end of the world (or I would definitely take precautions), but I'd rather leave it for another 8 months or so.

    Thanks heaps for your help.

Mine stayed away for 19 months and DS went on to BF for nearly 4 years. He was a pretty keen breastfeeder and didn't get right into solids until well after 12 months, so I figure that may be why mine stayed away for so long (I breastfed on demand and coslept, he fed during the night whenever he wanted).

You ovulate before you have your period, so you can become pregnant before you have your first AF back.

5 1/2 months despite breastfeeding! I noticed Libra fleur tampons have changed their design since I last used them over a year ago & I don't like them as much
