    Thank you ladies.

Saizen is fine. To be honest I'm on 450 puregon, 0.5 ml saizen, lucrin and have no side affects. But I never do. Maybe a little emotional but in saying that I have always been a bit of a sook. Bloody cry over the smallest things. And that drives me crazy.
Anyhow thanks again for the welcome.

    Hi ladies!

I hope you don't mind me joining your thread. I have certainly been around for a while but don't often post as I find sometimes the other threads a little too "full on" for me!

Sadly I recognise a few names which is terrible to think we are still here and trying to achieve a common goal of being a mother.

I am currently day 8 of our 3rd stim cycle with saizen too boot!

Bubs4Kylee - I noticed we have been around the traps for a while and I see that you too are on the saizen! Did you have to mortgage your house and sell of a kidney to pay for the privileage??!
2 days down of the saizen and so far so good, no side effects apart from headaches and some ridiculous sized bruises, but I guess 3 jabs a night will do this.

Our journey so far has been shorter than most, this is our 3rd stim cycle without any frosties. With 1 ovary I always haul a good amount of eggs, however our fert rate is terrible 1 or 2 at most and DH has been checked as I have and our FS believes it is my eggs.

At our last appt in January this year, he sat us down and explained that unless we achieve a better fert rate with this next cycle in order to freeze some embs we are sadly out of the race - their is no point continuing.

We have taken the last 6 mnths to pysch ourselves up and honestly I am not overly optimistic as I have heard mixed results with the saizen improving the eggs. Our FS said it is like "Red Bull" for eggs so I hope he is right!

At this stage my first BT and Scan are this wednesday and that our EPU is this Friday 13!

So ladies, I have read your thread for quite some time and I look forward to getting to know you more. Take care x

    Hi Girls,

I hope that you dont mind me popping in, but am just hoping to help one person if possible. A quick background on me. I have PCO (cysts and dont ovulate), have blocked tubes and a blood clotting disorder (all when I thought I was a very healthy person). I did IVF 3 times in the end. 1st time I overstimmed, got 21 eggs and no eggs fertilised. Second time failed and third time failed with FS suggesting poor egg quality. I was waiting to do a FET but no matter how many drugs I was given I could not get my lining past 4.7mm. Dr said very little that they could do for me which was obviously DEVASTATING. I then spent about 20 hours over a weekend trawling the internet. I came across a book called Understanding Fertility by Randine Lewis at my local library and it became my bible. I also started seeing an awesome TCM practitioner, started taking chinese medicine, had weekly acupuncture and changed my diet quite radically ( I did not need to lose weight but ate way too much sugar), no alcohol, sugar, mostly organic etc, which was sooo different from my normal diet (I was desperate and was my last resort). I was doing all of this for 3 1/2 months with the intention of my lining issue improving. After 3 months I ovulated for the first time in my life with all normal symptoms I had only read about. So was waiting to get my period to start another FET and it never came. By some absolute miracle my tubes cleared, I ovulated and now have a 4 month old baby girl. I took Clexane and Aspirin however when I retested I also no longer have anticardiolipin antibodies. I hate to mention the preg thing as I know how hard it is to hear about but am posting in the hope that I can help even one person in reaching their dream. The diet was really hard to stick to and I did slip up a few times but worth it in the end. My cousin also went to them as she had had 3 miscarriages and is now 20 weeks (apparently they help with this aswell). I wish you all so much luck on here, and know how painful this whole thing is. All the best, Rainbow

Wanabemum- I just looked at my book and it is actually called "the infertility cure" not Understanding Fertility. I am unfortunately not sure of the name of the herbs as the lady I saw just gave them to me. I am in Perth and loved the lady I saw but I see you are in Sydney. If you do see someone, make sure that they specialise or atleast know alot about treating fertility and IVF..

Luvabug- thank you for the welcome

SummerShine- thanks for the welcome. That abnormal pap smear results must have given you a scare. Thank goodness it was pre-cancerous. How are you going with the ED process?

I am about to start my 9th cycle. In an effort to improve my embryo quality I am about to start DHEA, Melatonin and SCT for four months. Has anyone been on these meds before?? This will be my last cycle with my own embies. And then we will moving on to ED. I want to give this next cycle my all, so that I have absolutely no regrets and want to try once more for closure. So I have made it my mission to get as healthy and happy as I can in the next 4 months. Any tips or suggestions? I might have a look at that book ‘rainbow8’ suggested. Thanks everyone for your support. Good luck with your journeys. Wishing you all the very best.

Jnet- hi Hun. I'm onto my 8th cycle. I have been on dhea for almost 3 months. I do believe it has helped my egg quality. Fertilization rate went from about 48% to 85%.... The problem is DH but I don't get too many eggs in saying that either. I have my ultrasound tomorrow to see how I'm stimming with EPU next week. Im also taking saizen this time round and my FS thinks to date this is my best cycle yet based on the BT's I did the other day. Saizen is a growth hormone injection you have while injecting FSH meds as well. It's about $200 a day on top of all other fees. Will keep you posted in how I go tomorrow.
    Kylee.

Thanks bubs4kylee. DHEA sounds promising, it's worth a try. Hope your ultrasound went well. Good luck with your EPU next week. I have taken saizen on a previous cycle. It’s quite expensive. Its amazing how quickly it all adds up. Keep us posted with how you go.

    Hi Ladies!

Lots of newbies around - hello to everyone and may your journey come to and end soon!!!

We are just starting the next round, i'm on the pill and DP has started sniffing. A lot of down time coming up as we try and get us in sync, not expecting EPU until mid August. I'm feeling a little more confident this time as they have put me onto the pill and Syneral in the lead up. The last two fresh transfers i've bled during them and started AF even when they told me i wouldn't because of the drugs.

    to all Green
