Hi Danii - welcome! Are you having a different type of cycle this time with different needles? Why did the FETs not have a chance of working if you don't mind me asking? Good luck with this embie!

Hi Haydos- thank you for the welcome and for the good luck for my little embie!! I'm doing my second down cycle( normally don't do down cycle fet's) FET HRT, Colorado, metforim, patches, progesterone pesseries and they have added 100mg progesterone injections this time around as they have been doing my FET's at a level of only 12 and they wouldn't have implanted at that! lost count of how many i have down at that level!!

Thank you for asking Haydos as i haven't started reading back yet not sure where you are up tooooo in your journey if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Ladies, sorry I havent posted for about a week. I've been reading but I'm so exhausted when I get in from work I've been too lazy to post.

Dani - welcome , it's nice to have a thread like this where people really get it. Good luck with your current FET, how long until your BT?

Jamison - add me to the list of retail therapy after a bfn. As you said it helps for a minute or 2 and I figure after all we go through we deserve it. It's nice that your sister offered to be an ED for you. I can understand what a big decision that would be and not an easy one to make. My FS hasn't suggested that to me yet but I think it will be coming up soon if my next cycle doesnt work. Is that your next step (if you dont mind me asking) or will you be doing another cycle(s) with your eggs?

Haydos - I'm so sorry that your appt wasn't as positive as you would have hoped for. I can imagine it would have been a shock for your FS to suggest ED or switching to another FS. It was sweet of your sister to offer but I can understand the feeling of not being ready for that yet. Have you decided if you will stick with your FS or go for "fresh eyes"? Good luck with whatever you decide.

Starfish - I have such a good feeling for you and your ED cycle coming up. I hope that this is the sticky one for you.

Frosty - I also saw your news on the Brissy thread cos I read nearly all of the threads . Your numbers are awesome , I hope this is your sticky bub, I'm so happy for you.

Loveabug - Normally I really hate the wait between cycles but this time I've found it ok, not normal for me at all. It'll be 5 months between cycles when I get started next week but this time I've actually used it to get healthier instead of talking about it like I normally do. I've been really good for the last 5 years since we started ttc but have still put on 10 kilos since starting ivf 2 years ago. I've managed to lose 5 kilos of it which I'm thrilled about and have really increased my fruit and veg intake so I'm really hoping that it makes a difference. Sorry if you've already said this but will you be doing a FET with your next cycle or will you be doing another stim. Wishing you lots of luck

Hi to all the lovely ladies I've missed
afm, as I mentionned above I start the jabbing part of my cycle this coming wednesday, (I've been on zoladex for 2 months already). I'll do lucrin for 2 weeks and then start stims. If it goes the same as usual I'll be having EPU at around 8th Oct (give or take a day or 2). I'm sooooo hoping for a good result this time , I've been on DHEA for 3 months (which I know is only the minimum time so I hope it still makes a difference), I've been healthier then previous (detoxed for past 2 months - not that I had much caffiene or alcohol before that anyway) lost weight, have been taking CoQ10 which I havent had previously. I'm hoping these few changes will be enough to get us our bub this time.

Sorry for the long post, I had a few personals to catch up with though. Have a great week everyone.

Hi Danii, I've done quite a few cycles and usually get low fertilisation rates even with ICSI. DH has DNA fragmentation issues and I get poor egg quality as I have too low oestrogen levels for the high numbers of eggs I get. I had LH injections last cycle and got a bit better result than normal. Will probably do one or two more cycles with LH and hope and pray it works, otherwise admit defeat I think.
How many cycles have you done? That's annoying they didn't test the progesterone levels given there was an issue! Hopefully things will be a lot better now you know that and can do something about it. Good luck!!

Lilybaby - good luck with starting jabbing. Were the DHEA and lucerin for egg quality?
I think we will stick with our FS for now.

Hi ladies. Sorry I haven't popped in often or earlier. As some of you who stalk me over the brisbane thread or read my diary already know I got a BFP on Friday. I went back for another BT this morning, hcg has gone up nicely according to textbook. And OMG so far no spotting! I really want to get off this roundabout. When Wazza asked for the Playskool song at ET, I used to sing him "Here we go round the mulberry bush" because it feels that. I've been falsely excited by BFP's in the past and then slide down the snake a few weeks later. This is the last time ever I'd have to do this again.

Wow, you guys have been chatting up a storm! Had to read back 2 pages!

Haydos, good to hear from you Sounds like you and DH have a lot to consider. I hope whatever the next step is, it becomes clear soon. Take care in the meantime

Jamison, I hear ya sister on soooo many levels! And I 100% agree with the retail therapy softening the blow, albeit temporarily. I think to myself, well if I have to be childless at this point in my life, dammit I'm gonna look good!
As for THAT conversation, it is quite confronting and it has taken me about 6 months from when my sister 1st offered for me to feel like it was something I could do. Happy to chat about it further if you ever want to.

Danii. I see from your sig you have travelled a long road to get here Hoping you've got the right combo of support on board this time and you'll be another one off the LTIVF treadmill!

Lilybaby, hoping all that clean living will pay huge dividends for you soon!!! I'm just getting my act together (ceasing caffeine, limiting alcohol etc) in prep for my tx. DH and I had a few months of living the high life since last cycle (after 6 months of living like members of a remote hill tribe at the beginning of the year! ) Hmmm perhaps we need to find some balance!

Frosty, thanks for popping by to give us the official news. Huge CONGRATULATIONS, it is all sounding good and there are only ladders ahead

Loveabug and anyone else I've missed

well it seems we all get some retail therapy after a bad cycle. Why not?? We deserve it a zillion times over. Star - I hear you on looking good if I cannot be pregnant! I thin well if I am childless again, I should just rock the new outfits and the stillettos.!!!

lily - my sister is offering to be a surrogate and not so much an ED. I am more comfortable with that at this stage as we have no evidence to suggest the eggs are a problem and apparently I have MANY left. The only way to know what to do regarding ED is to do the PGD I suspect. You can ask me anything you like. I am an open book. How are you travelling there?

Star - gotta look good no matter how bad you feel inside I say!! I would like to take you up on the offer regarding ED questions at some stage (If I cross that bridge and I am hoping not to but only time will tell) I can understand it taking you some time to come to terms with the ED issue. I would be the same and to be honest, I am not there yet. I am stuggling to accept that the baby would not be biologically mine but I know if push came to shove, I would get there and would never give it another thought after I got my hands on that little bundle. It has taken me up until the past two months to even accept the idea that someone may need to carry the baby for me. I was hung up on and consumed by the idea of the whole being pregnant "experience" but I have let go of that if it means I can have a child by some other method. I am sure you understand exactly what I am saying. I just spoke with an old family friend in this past fortnight about her experience with ED as she donated for her sister. She said to me she has never thought of those children as her own. I am glad I had the opportunity to speak with her a little and gain the other perspective. I asked her if the children know and she said they do now as they are much older and they still just think of her as "Aunty". I can really waffle can't I?? Anyway, if I get to that stage, I would really love to talk with you further about it.

loveabug - well you took the retail therapy to the extreme!!! Impulsive is surely the word!! You poor girl not having alot of shops near you. I would have withdrawals. I hope your DH is like mine though and does not DARE utter a word about the purchases after bad news. I pity the man who says anything to a woman who just had a BFN and spent some cash!! I am starting to wonder if it is ingrained in a woman's genes to shop when things go wrong! Who am I kidding? We all know it is a scientific fact!!! I am going to use your camper story as an example if DH ever says anything derogatory about my spending!!! Keep on getting out and getting some air. I know how hard it is to move sometimes but you feel so much better for it. Hope AF arrives ASAP for you

Frosty - best of luck. I am thinking of you!!

dani - welcome and best wishes for the FET. I am with Star in hoping you get off this "treadmill" soon.

AFM....I am so prood of myself for going back to the gym after wallowing in self pity after the last FET. I feel so much better for it and I think, if I go to the gym and slog it out on the treadmill, does that give me credit and allow me to get off the LTer's treadmill?? PLEASE?????
