    Hi,
It sounds like things are still quite difficult with your bub, and with all the things you are saying, it actually makes me wonder if she still does have some reflux. While the reflux may have eased off in the last few months, it can still flare at times. Have you made any recent changes? Is she teething? Or spending extra time lying horizontal? It isn’t unusual to flare with things like crawling (or trying to), teething, or even a change in weather or routine. Also, it isn’t unusual for the signs of reflux to change as the child gets older. The reflux is still there, but you may not realise it.

The fact that she is happier with a dummy also fits, as many reflux babies feel much more comfortable with them. The extra saliva from sucking on the dummy can help neutralise any acid, and help wash it out of the oesophagus.

It may be an idea to discuss these issues you are having with your local doctor. There can of course be other reasons why she is showing signs of reflux again, and you may need to make sure she doesn’t have any other problems such as an ear infection, or something else, as the signs can be similar. It may also be worth trying some simple basic reflux treatments- keeping her upright more often, using thickened feeds, and ensuring she maintains a good routine. If your doctor has recommended antacids in the past, it may be worth trying that as well, just to see if it makes a difference or even restarting medication if she was previously taking them (check with your doctor first though).

As you are concerned, I would recommend speaking with your daughter’s doctor. Reflux in children can be a very difficult and confusing condition, and the most important thing is for you to trust your instincts, and continue to do what feels right for her.

    I hope that helps
