My heart goes out to you and your partner at this time. We experienced the same thing at 6 weeks a few months ago

    Big ((hugs))

We had tried IVF and been ttc for 4 years then decided mid 2012 it was time to move forward with our otherwise very happy lives and went away for Xmas. I didn't feel great but was busy and distracted and did not even realise I was late until we got home on New Years Day when I did a test and pregnant! I really believe it is because we stopped focusing and worrying and just concentrated on other things. Good on you for pormoting the laid back approach, I couldnt agree more!

    Hello there,
Newbie so trying to use right acronyms but apologies if not BBD - baby dance

I think when you've been TTC for a long time your BBD attempts get fewer and further between. When we adopt this approach we got more BBD's in, which gives more chance.

We go through fits and starts TTC really by the book and then the who cares attitude comes back.

Hello all, the days a creeping by quickly during this TWW. AF is due Thursday and so is the BT as the day its due is a Public Holiday.

Other than admitting to a few twinges, DP isnt letting on how she is feeling. We have booked an overnight stay in Canberra Thursday night to see the exhibition Toulouse-lautrec at the National Gallery of Australia.

The drive down will hopefully take our minds off the waited phone call from the clinic.

Hope everyone is ok in their journeys

    Hello all,

I hope this is the right place to post, I'm finding the forum a bit tricky to navigate as well as understanding the lingo.

My husband and I have decided to try for our first, I'm on elevit and I'm off the pill. I've been on the pill for the past month and have skipped 9 months AF each year for the last eight so I have no idea what my cycle is like. What do people reccomend we try to figure it out, should I be use the ovulating sticks? Hope this makes sense, it's a bit overwhelming at the moment. Any advice welcome

    TIA

    Welcome

Ovulation sticks (opks) will probably be good if your cycle takes a while to get regular off the pill. You might have to do them everyday though as sometimes it can take ages for your cycle to regulate (some have taken 6+ months). You could try taking your bbt if your keen...i've found that the most useful for pinpointing o (ovulation) but it requires you to take your temp as soon as you wake up everyday and only predicts o after you've already od. Also look out for ewcm (eggwhite cervical muscus) as thats a great fertile sign and usually mean its opk and bding (baby dancing) time. Good luck!

You can also just go the 'relaxed' route and just bd every other day for your whole cycle or 2-3 times a week...but if your keen to find out when you o you can try what i've said above.

Thanks blotchedtabby..We will keep trying the relaxed way this month, I think AF is due in about 2 and a half weeks roughly. And then look into the OPKS next month if no luck there

Hello everyone! this is a fantastic group! Lol definitely the relaxed approach with TTC is important. I shall introduce myself, hehe :P I am 24 and have been TTC for a month now. My husband and I are just trying to go with the flow of things. I have been recently diagnosed with PCOS (last month) which I was very stressed about, but now seeing a fertility specialist and on Clomid tablets to help me ovulate. But definitely just staying relaxed hehe stress is so bad for you and especially when TTC. Just enjoying the journey of TTC #1
