Hi, Would love to join this thread. It's our 1st cycle trying to concieve and I am only using CM as a guide no temps or OPKs. Was wondering if anyone out there is doing the same and how they have found it. Trying to take a relaxed approach if that is possible haha!!!

That sounds like a good idea tinkerbell I was going for the relaxed approach this month but that didn't happen I used opks and the o'd earlier than last cycle so was stressing about that. I was just going to ask everyone how they forget about ttc but I think next month (not holding out much hope for this month) I will delete my cd tracker app and not use opk and just dtd every 2nd day

    Hi There,

I'm totally new to all of this; its my first time here. I love reading the positive stories of you all.

My partner and I are taking a relaxed approach to conceiving, but I still make sure we do it on those fertile days.

I just wanted to get someones opinion.

For the past 4 days I've been having a dull ache (not severe) in my lower left abdomen and my lower left back near my kidney. I've also been completely exhausted despite sleeping well. My period is due today but I've not had any of my normal PMS symptoms - in fact I've had No PMS at all. I decided to test today because of the pain and got a Negative. I went to the doctor because I thought perhaps a Kidney infection or something (although this dull ache is the only symptom). So far there is no sign of my period showing up, but no pregnancy symptoms either.

Was wondering if someone could give me any ideas on when I should re-test? Or if anyone has had anything similar?

Thank you for your help (I don't have anyone else to speak about this kind of thing with).

Hi Jen - Did your Dr do a pregnancy test? I don't have any words of wisdom as I'm in the same boat only my AF is due tomorrow and I got a BFN today (11dpo). If AF doesn't show up tomorrow I'm going to test on Sat. I'm not having any usual PMS symptoms either. Usually I have cramps the day before and start breaking out a few days before that. This month my skin is without pimples (but far from flawless) and no cramps today but cramps 3 days before that.

My first pregnancy was not planned so I wasn't paying attention until I started showing symptoms at 5 weeks. So, who knows!! Good luck with your TTC journey. Hope it's a short one.

k17, Great to hear other people are not using the OPK etc. I was starting to feel like maybe I should be. I think they sound stressfull and addictive. I'm going to try dtd every second day too next cycle and see how we go and we both feel like it as much as we can during my fertile period. for you.

Cool Kidney type ache, missing period

    Hi There,

Thanks for replying. My doc yesterday tested me for a kidney infection but today got a negative result. I did a pregnancy test yesterday (the day my period was due) got a negative. Pain and exhaustion a bit better today (but I did have the day off work). Still no PMS or period not sure what's going on. Any ideas? When do you think might be a good time to retest?

    Hi Tinkerbell,

I've just been using CM to determine when I'm ovulating, though I've only been TTC for two months. This month was quite easy as I had some O'd cramps/twinges a couple of days before I got EWCM which I had for about 2.5-3 days, on the last day I had a little be of cramping and by the next day I was back to creamy CM!

I don't think using CM gives you an exact day but its a good indicator, particularly if you're happy to hold off testing until af.

About (or at least) 6dpo now and had a tiny bit of cramping so fx!

I am the same as you Tinkerbell. I use CM and day tracking as a guide and have achieved 5 pregnancies ok. I was on the other thread but I was starting to feel anxious by some wanting to "analyse" their pregnancy tests so early. With friends who have failed at IVF, it is so important not to stress and 9/10 they get pregnant when stopping the IVF or going on holiday! Hence the reason I don't want to use OPKs or temps either, I can see how it can consume your life.
