    Default One-Safe infant carrier

So, this capsule is the best rated on the latest RACV safety survey. Does anyone have one and if so do they like it? It has a 3 star 'ease of use' rating and I'm curious to know what sort of issues would give it this lower rating in this category. Is it easy to get in/out of the car? Is it easy to change between cars? I'm tempted to get one and then 2 bases ... last time we had 2 car seats for our bub, so I'm not sure if I'll regret not having 2 seats for a newborn or not.

And the travel system that it fits with? Does it only fit it's brand of pram or might it fit into other prams? I have a steelcraft stroller that fits the unity capsule, would this seat fit in it do you think? (I never bought a unity capsule)

Yes. Googled it for reviews without success.

Does anyone actually have this capsule?

Default I have this travel system

I bought the Safety First One Safe Infant Carrier and the Pram/Stroller that goes with it.

I don't think the capsule would be compatible with other brands of strollers or prams, only the Safety First One.

The Capsule is definately easy to use both to put bub in and out of the capsule and the capsule in and out of the car. I would reccommend getting two bases if you have two cars, the base is not hard to put in but I would not want to be moving it back and forth. I only got one base and just got a convertable car seat for our second car as I knew I would not be using it much when bub was little. When I used that Car I just used the stroller seat. My boy has just turned six months old and I stopped using it about a month ago as he was getting too big for it. I did find that as bubs got bigger it was a bit heavy to carry the capsule with bubs in it but this would be the same with any capsule.

One of my main reasons for buying this travel system was that it was narrower than the Strider Plus and that you have the ability to face the baby forward or reverse in the pram seat.

The Stroller base is easy to collapse however I do find that the Stroller seat and base take up most of the room in my medium size boot (Holden Viva Sedan).

My advice when looking for a pram would be to consider how you are going to use it when bub is a bit bigger because now I think about it they are only tiny and in the capsule for such a relatively short amount of time and I don't know about you but I was not out and about as much when he was tiny as I am now he is bigger.

I purchased my system from a store called Bub's N Grubs in Morningside Brisbane and at the time I got it last year they had a great video on their website demonstrating the travel system and how it worked.

Thanks Peg for the long review.

I'm thinking of just getting the capsule. My back is super dodgy, so maybe I'll just leave it in the car and yet dh can get it out if he's home or I can if I can manage it.

No worries. When my boy was a new born at 7lb7oz I did not have a problem lifting and carrying the capsule, only at around 4-5 months did I find it a problem.

It does click in and out of the base very easily haveing to hold it up and fiddle with it at all.

    Thanks Peg.

I went to my local Baby Bunting yesterday to look at one, but they don't stock them . That's a big issue cause I usually get my car seats fitted there too. And my back is progressively getting worse & I'm starting to doubt we'll use it as a carrier at all. So, I'm thinking of getting the new Meridian AHR instead ... it's 4*'s, but it will mean my dd-to-be can be in it rear-facing til 12kg.

Probably a good idea to just go for the convertable car seat if you cannot carry the capsule.

Is the Meridian the Safe and Sound one ? If so check out Target as they have one which has all safety features of their top model just a few less bells and whistles i got one on sale for $249 usually $349 and it is great.
