    Default naughty child/adhd

I have a ds who will be 5 in a few mnths, lately he has been so naughty talking back ad really acting out. i do not know if its just a naughty behaviour he is going thru or something like adhd.. i know that adhd cannot be diagnosed this young? he has been going to childcare 2days a week since he was little and now goes to kinder , noone has ever expressed any concrern at either of these places and i believe that he is quite well behaved at these places. WOuldnt you think if he was out of control they would mention something ?? at home he is the opposite. he back chats and is just full on.. pls if anyone else has a child this age let me know if they can be or are similar.

    - never sits still when bored but will watch a full movie if its one he likes
    -clumsy when tired
-loves books and cuddles at night
    -sleeps great, eats well
    - but so naughty, if he does not get hsi way will throw a tantrum-
-hates his siblings getting things if he misses out
-so so rough, pushes friends over and so bossy

for some reason i am thinking his beahaviour is not normal at the moment, how can a little boy be so nice one minute and then so nasty to others.. he will yell and yell if he wants something, has no patience.. if i take him out on his own though, just one on one he is perfect, minute someone else is in the picture , be it a sibling or another adult, he goes crazy and wants attention..

You just explained my 5 year old lol. We often struggle with his behaviour and sometimes he can be really unpleasant to be around. I have also noticed he gets really irritable when he needs to go to the toilet lol. We always get told he is a cute little boy and very well mannered wherever we take him. We had transition at his new primary school last week and one of the teachers stopped me and told me what a delight he was. Why can't he be this delightful child at home . I honestly think it must be the age, and a boy thing! They do get a surge of testosterone around this age which would contribute.

I don't have much advice, I guess I find a lot of positive reinforcement works sometimes and always having something for him to do. Goodluck with staying patient and not losing your sanity .

My son is similar and he is 3.25. If your really concerned see a GP and ask for a referral. They'll get him to do a WISK test. I think they do a modified one for pre-primary kids.

Sounds exactly like my 3 year old!

I've been pulling my hair out! But I've put it down to we have just taken her out of daycare and have been struggling with early pregnancy symptoms. Also have had appendicitis recently so can't pick her up.

When we are home and not doing anything she gets really bored and acts out but when we are out and about she is a perfect little angel so have realised that at home she isn't being stimulated enough so is acting out.
