Default Is it possible...? Sheet to cover birth?

This may be a stupid question, but I have seen in some videos/pictures of women given birth who have some kind of sheet covering the action area so only the dr "down there" can see.

Is this possible to ask for?
I would like to NOT see as much as possible (same for DP).

Of course that should be fine, though I ended up birthing naked in a room FULL of people. and my modesty was the last thing on my mind haha

If you have a sheet over you would that mean that your flat on your back on a bed?

It is often easier to birth in a more upright position (squatting, on all 4's, leaning over something standing) as gravity helps baby out and your able to open up your pelvis more so less likely to tear.

You could invest in a night longish nighty and then just lift it up as you catch babe, that way you still keep some modesty especially whilst moving around.

That said I was stark naked for most of my labor, I was too hot to wear clothes and in and out of the birth pool. I didn't really care who saw me.

You can definitely ask. I remember before my first labor I didn't want to see anything and didn't want anyone seeing anything. But once I was in labor its not really something I thought about

Yes it's possible. I had one with my first and will again with this one. They only removed it a few minutes before he was delivered so they could put him straight onto my skin.
