sorry its been so long guys. Had my new specialist appointment and i love him!!! it was such a relief to find a doc who believed me when i said i miscarried last year twice, 6 months apart, while on the pill. last jerk told me it was all in my head. told this guy my symptoms i went through and what my hubby noticed and instantly he said "those were both miscarriages, im so sorry".

He's sending me for ultra sounds to check for any cysts, as i had one about 2 years ago but was never followed up on. Other than that he is getting me off the pill a month before we start trying to see how my body reacts without the hormone help (ha! good luck DH!!) and if doesnt work said has no probs with putting me on the fertility drugs.

more help in 1 1hr session than in my 2 years with other a*hole!!!! (pardon the french ladies, PMS atm!)

Truebeliever - Thats fantastic about your new specialist!! Hopefully he is able to help you sooner than later!!

I just had all my preconception blood tests (and the hormone levels again) this morning, so fingers crossed I have all the immunities I need to start trying straight away.

I bought blackmores i-folic last night - $20 for 150 tablets (1 a day) - so heaps cheaper than conceive well or elevit - It contains the essential folate and iodine - I just need to make sure I get the rest of my vitamins through good diet.
I asked my hubby about him taking men's pre-conception vitamins and he doesn't need them because he is perfect!!! Thanks a lot hubby!

And thanks for the costs for metformin etc. Thats a releif to know it's not to exxy at all - not that the cost would stop me if it helped, but its one less thing to worry about.

Truebeliever - I am so glad that this new specialist is so much better then the old one. I know having a doctor that believes you and actually wants to help you makes things a bit more comfortable and easier.

Nando - I have the i-folic as well but I think I might have to move on to something else as I am not sure I am getting all the essential vitamins in my diet

Hi truebeliever..... Was just scrolling over everyone's ads when I saw your question.... I suffer severely when taking blackmores and elevit tablets. for ages we couldn't work out why I was getting so sick - I was getting seriously bad dizzy spells and nausea - then happened to mention it to my ob/gyn who said some women get an allergic reaction to particular herbs used in the tablets... Weird!!! I now take cenovis and I'm fine... Just a pity bout all the money spent on the elevit n blackmores

Hi all - I am a newbie and thought I'd pop in and try to get an understand of how others are dealing with PCOS, and if hubby and I are ever going to get the chance to have a baby of our own.

I have only just recently been diagnosed and have been feeling pretty deflated ever since. To make matters worse, all of my close girlfriends around me are having babies or are pregnant, I'm the odd one out and I keep getting those comments from everyone 'you'll be getting clucky' - if only they knew. I have told only a few very special friends about my circumstances, and they are being wonderful, but I just feel lost.

Am waiting for blood test results and a telephone appt with my specialist (gotta love living in the country!) but a baseline scan confirmed the suspiscion, along with a handful of other symptoms.

Not sure where I'm headed, or what options there are, reading a few stories gives me some hope, but also am quite scared that this could be a long process potentially with no results.

I look forward to getting to know you all

    Welcome livininthecountry.

Tell me about it. I seem to have pregnant family and friends sprouting up from everywhere. I completely understand your fears about it being a long process and possibly without success. I know that one day I will be a mum one way or another but its hard thinking that we could be wasting a whole lot of time for nothing.

But we must try and stay positive and do exactly as the doc says.

We'll all just keep spreading the baby dust around and it's bound to land on someone.

Damn I am having such a hard time in remembering to take my metformin. I am on 1000mg a day and I keep forgetting to take the tablet I am going to need to set myself a reminder so I can take them.

welcome livininthecountry, how did the blood tests go?

I have trouble remembering to take it straight after food so I hope that doesn't cause a problem for me. How have you been going on it Kim? Some people experience bad side affects.
