    Default baby smiling...

How old was your baby when they smiled on purpose for the first time? What were you doing for them to smile at you?

My DD was 4 weeks 1 day, it was my first day alone with her so her timing was impeccable she had just had a feed and i was looking at her and saying nom nom nom and she cracked the biggest smile. So cute!

DS smiled later than what I'm led to believe is "average". He was 9 weeks old and I was just talking and smiling very animatedly to him close to his face.

I have a picture of bubby smiling right after he was born (I was cuddling him whilst being stitched up after my CS) so to me, that was his first smile After that though, he would of been around 3 weeks old.
Sometimes I'd buy Vogue instead of dinner. I just felt it fed me more.

DS smiles all the time! from the day he was born. I don't know if they are 'on purpose' but I think they are i get right in his face when he is having tummy time or back time and smile at him and chat to him. this morning he cracked a huge one when DP was handing him to me

my babies started smiling around 4 weeks. They usually smiled when I came back from being out of the room for a bit or what ever and i would say hello to them.
