    Default Trike advice... :)

    Hi all!

My DD's 1st birthday is slowly approaching and we would like to buy her a convertible trike. The Little Tikes 3 in 1 Trike is currently on special at Toys R Us for $99 (reduced from $179) which I got VERY excited about until I started doing some research and have read some pretty negative reviews.

I'm looking at the styles that have the parent steering handle for when they are about 1 year old, that then converts into a trike they pedal themselves when they are older.

Do you have a trike and swear by it? If so, what's the brand and how much did you pay? Or did you buy one and was hopelessly disappointed? I'm starting to think that spending a bit more and investing in something that can last longer than a few weeks is the smart way to go. I'd love to use it regularly and get my moneys worth...

    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi there
We got a smart trike from target! It's awesome. Kept outside for a year and still looks new. One of the best things we have bought I think we paid 139

The only advice I can give (based on 6 year old sister when she had one) is make sure that you can lock the front wheel to straight or it is impossible to push them when they're wobbling the handlebars!

DS has the Trident Convertible Trike, I got it from Toys r us. It's not as easy to push as others and not quite as "comfy" but my objective was a bike that would grow with my DS and not plastic. I wanted a real bike that could withstand a lot.

For those of you with Smart Trikes, what is the parent steering like? I've heard it can be quite hard. And does it seem sturdy to you, or just lots of plastic?

Sorry about all the questions. Really want to invest in something good
