    Default Favorite Toy/Book/Puzzle for 4mth & 16mth old

In an effort to save time & money on things that will not even get a second look i thought i'd ask for recommendations for specific toys, books & puzzles (& bath toys) for my 4mth old son & 16mth old nephew. Be great if i could find something that the 16mth old will be entertained with for more than a few minutes (even if anyone has favorites for a age inbetween which my 4mth old can enjoy later in the year).

My DS loved all the "that's not my..." books. They are touchy feely and rhyme, so great for little babies or even toddlers.

Ds (5 months) just loves anything that rattles/crumples/jingles- the toys on his playmat, whether hanging or on the floor so he can pick them up and suck on them!!

5 month old ds2 loves toys that crinkle & rattle.
I've found that the toys that get played with most in the bath are plastic dolls, cheap cups from golo, empty bottles, small balls & a kids watering can.

16mo dd loves the fisher price farm that my sister gave her. This is pretty expensive for a gift, but her kids used it for years and years. She's starting to shape sort so it using those more. Lift the flap and touchy feely books. A wooden ring stacker thing. Pull along telephone.
Then again, a bit of water in the bottom of a mixing bowl and a wooden spoon to stir it with is probably her favourite thing!

My 16 month old DS loves where's the green sheep? They print it on board book too. He honestly brings it to me 20+ times a day. He also loves a book we have with lots of transport pictures, eg cars buses trucks.
He has a ton of fun with the tunnel we got from ikea too.
