I still apy extra rent which i am taking out for christmas.

Next year i am going to put $20 away a fortnight. Not alot but its a start as i am aiming on a family holiday up north for a week in a resort. I really have my heart set on going. Also quitting smoking too so that could be possibly more money to save depending on how successful i am on the quitting.

Waa, our savings have dwindled down to umm... $400?? Ds still has savings though. We had to buy a new fridge, pay our subdivision bills and it's all added up. I still haven't found a job so on one average income (which dropped from 65k to 45k!!!) we aren't doing too bad I guess.

You guys are rocking it!! Good job

My savings have dwindled big time too... Down from $21k to $4k...yikes!
But we have since moved interstate, bought some new furniture and have paid my car out. So at least i'm completely debt free.
I haven't worked in about a month now but will be going back very shortly so hopefully I can jump back on board and start saving again!

Mine is nothing how I don't know so I've started again from this week just little bits here or there. I'm aiming to have 10 grand by the end of the year and no credit card debt!
Here we go- its scary to think about but I know it's so worth having it

Hi girls, can I join? I've spent all evening (well when I had a break anyway!) reading through most of your posts and it's really inspiring. Were on 2 incomes but somehow it comes in one hand and goes out the other every fortnight! I seemed to save more money when I was a single mother studying and on pp?? But I guess your lifestyle expands with your income and I've picked up a lot of lazy habits.

I've been doing ok with saving this year, saving $400 a fortnight but recently I had a few surprise expenses come up and I'm down to $800 savings. I should be able to save more really as my rent and bills are only a quarter of my income and I don't spend more than $60 on petrol a month, but I'm hopeless.

I have $9000 debt, which was actually $14000 a year ago but I'm not even trying to pay it down at the moment. Also I have tons of dental work I need to do and an expensive school trip for DS to pay for. With TTC I'm wanting to get ahold on my financial mindset over all as well!

Well it's a tiny step but this thread inspired me tonight to make my lunch for work tomorrow. I spent $15 on lunch today and that's a daily expense...small steps, right?
