I see this is an old thread but my story may still give others hope. When I first started IVF the testing for AMH was fairly new so my FS didn't bother but my FSH was 11 (I was 33). After 6 cycles I got my BFP who is my beautiful 3 yr old DD. When she was 14 months old we went back for number 2 and my AMH was tested and it came back at 1.5 (I was 36). It's taken a further 5 cycles and with a few of those cancelled due to no response but I got my BFP on this last cycle which only produced 1 egg at EPU, I am currently 7weeks4days and bubs is measuring perfectly with a perfect heartbeat. I truly believe my AMH, if tested back when I had my DD, would have still been very low. Low AMH can make it harder, yes, but not impossible! Don't give up girls xx

The sane thing happened to me, I had an amh of 1, after 4 icsi cycles I got my bfp with only one egg at pickup. I am currently 11 weeks pregnant and am 43. It can happen

Thanks so much ladies.. There's hope for me yet.. I have been TTC for 14 years .. started early 20's with IVF.. AMH tested when I was 34 and was neg 1.0. Told donor only option.. Used my sister as our donor and still no BFP only 1 embryo. Have sat on this for 18 months and am considering using a cheaper clinic as well as Donor Embryo's at FS's request...

Reading this has now just made my mind up to go again.. Congrats too btw

I have AMH<1 and was strongly urged by several FS to use donor egg. In Apr 2013 (aged 41) I did another cycle and had one follicle and one egg. This one egg is now my DS.

Chook, same thing happened to me. 43, one egg collected, one transferred and am now 12 weeks. For all those with low amh, I say give it a go with your eggs because you never know.

That's so inspiring!!!.. I'm taking Royal Jelly and Coq10 and a few other "super" natural vitamins to hopefully improve my chances.. did you ladies use DHEA.. I'd like to NOT use it just for the side affects but will give anything a go..

Sorry Pav77 I meant to get back to you sooner.
I’m so happy to read that our stories have helped you. It sounds like you have had a long journey
I didn’t use DHEA. I wanted to but none of the FS’s at my clinic would prescribe it for me (and I went through a few during 11 cycles!). I did use COQ10 and acupuncture during cycles. I am also on a cocktail of other medications due to elevated ANA levels.
I’m also not convinced about day 5 transfers for us girls who only get low numbers. With my DD’s cycle I got 2 eggs and both were transferred at day 2 as they were apparently looking “average”, with this current pregnancy it was only the one egg and transferred at day 3, there was no way I was letting them grow it to day 5. That’s just my opinion though.
I wish you all the very best hun and keep us posted on how you get on

My bub is 5 months old now, hubby and I tried for a year and half before we had her with no pregnancies. When we went to see fertility specialist I told her my mother had gone through menopause at 37 years old so I was given the test. Mine was 7 or 8 in august 2012 which was low for my age. We had our first round of IVF January 2013 and only got 2 embryos lasting the 5 days , 5 were lost after the first evening, it wasn't looking good. But these 2 made it to day 5 and were the best quality apparently they could have been. One was transferred and we were so very lucky that it stuck! October last year our little angel was born. So it is possible

In 2007 my amh was low at 10.7
In 2011 it had dropped to 2.2

In that time I had 2 miscarriages

We saw a few different fs who all said treatment was our only option.

In 2012 I had gastric bypass and subsequently lost 40 odd kg

We were told still that after 7+ years of ttc, IVF was the best option.
We sought another opinion of a fs who said we needed to wait out the 12 months post surgery. But as it was only 3 months, he would give me clomid (had tried it prior with no success) again to see if I ovulated properly.

Low and behold, two rounds on clomid and I conceived almost 8 years after we began ttc #2

I am now 35 weeks and looking forward to the arrival of our son! All the while packing my dacks as it has been 9 years since we had our dd!

    Please don't give up hope!
