wish - so good to hear from you, been wondering how you were doing. Completely understand that you need to take time away. I hope that you get your appt with the Genetics Dept soon and that you get some answers. Wishing you all the very best, will be thinking of you!

micca - so sorry that your FET was cancelled. I hope that you treated yourself really well.

leannep- so glad that your cycle can still go ahead... Wishing you all the very best. that things go well.

AFM - My cycle was cancelled again. Haven't been on here as trying to sort my brain out and working. After scan and blood test results last Monday I had 4 extra days of gonal-f but started to bleed on day 15 (Thursday) the day before my second scan. Needless to say the result of the scan wasn't good.... like that wasn't a forgone conclusion with the bleeding - lining 2mm and no follicles.

So looks like the first blood tests with the high progesterone level was a true indication of what was going on... FS said on Friday that those day10 results would have indicated that I had ovulated about 10days before the bloods - so about the same day that I started taking the clomid. So confused... of well.
Have decided that it might be a good idea to wait a little while before trying again. I am already on metformin 500mg SR due to ?insulin resistance/borderline diabetes, FS suggested that maybe I should increase my metformin to 1000mg. I guess that it isn't a bad idea and since I started on the meformin in July last year I have lost 12kg - I have a heap more that I could lose so in that respect it might help all round.
had a little chuckle with FS on Friday though.... FS said "looks like your donor is going to stay on ice" my reply " I hope that he likes being on ice as he's been there awhile, at least he will be thoroughly chilled by the time I get to use him"

FS is going to talk to another of her colleague's to see if she has any tricks that could potentially work for me. that between them they can find something. I am going to try IUI next time and then look at my options.
In the meantime I'm going to enjoy having my friend and her 10mth old daughter staying with me and then my week back in NZ with my brother.

Wishing those of you who are mid cycle all the very best and those that are looking at starting good luck!!!

WISH - time away from the hub will be just the thing. Hope the genetic counselling helps. Thinking of you.

MICCA and BLUE - sorry that your cycles have been cancelled must be soo frustrating for next time!!

AFM - had a bit of a scare last friday with brown discharge and abdominal pain. Having a followup ultrasound today to make sure everything is good with baby. I think it may just be an infection will get swab results on wed. Might be able to find out the sex today so am really excited will make planning easier and if its a pink baby then i can really start considering girls names

Will let you all know how we go later tonight or tomorrow if i get side-tracked as am working tonight.

Hi guys, I'm not single but the man of my dreams my DH has Azoospermia - no sperm so we may have to go down the donor sperm path !! Just wondering if anyone has any idea where there is donor sperm in NSW ?? We are currently going thru Westmead fertility centre but they don't have any donor sperm at the clinic and they are pushing for us to use a known donor - which we don't really have anyone suitable. I have read that there is donor sperm in QLD but only of Fertility First in Hurstville previously having donors from OS (which is what I would prefer) but now that info is not on their website !! DH has to have surgery to see if they can find Any sperm but if not I would just like to know some info !! Help anyone ??
Btw wow you ladies out there doing this alone - I am in awe of you all making such a huge decision !! I would totally do the same thing if I were in that situation and go it alone !!

Aloha shell - welcome to our thread. A great bunch of ladies here!!! I have used a private donor who I meet via a website called DIY-baby.com. It's a site run by an Aussie women who facilitates connections between singles, hetero and same sex couples looking for a sperm donor. The idea is to find someone that suits you and make your own arrangements.

For me I liked the idea of meeting the man who was donating sperm for me. We plan to have distant contact in the future and will exchange photos over the years.

    Goodluck

Micca - BIG HUGS hun , Im sorry your FET was cancelled again, completely sux . Enjoy that icecream and chocolate though! Really hoping it is a case of 3rd time lucky for you .

Babyplease - those swimmers are doing their thing . When do you test?

Blue - Im sorry your cycle was cancelled too, BIG HUGS to you . I really hope the FS can come up with a solution for you .

Nelle - I hope all is ok with bubs, how did your scan go, did you find out the colour???

Alohashell - I used an unknown donor through my clinic, I was lucky that they didnt have a wait list. Have you thought about using an overseas donor? Being in NSW I believe you can import sperm from the USA, there are heaps of web sites you can look at, Im in VIC and we cant import sperm into Victoria. All the best with your cycle and donor search .

I hope everyone else is doing well.

AFM - I repeated the GTT on Monday and had my hospital appointments yesterday and its confirmed, I have gestational diabetes . It was such an overhwelming afternoon, so much information to take in. So have to test my blood sugar levels 4 times a day by doing a finger prick, my poor little fingers!! Now my diet is even more strict!!
My fundal height is now measuring 6 weeks ahead !! OB is hoping that once I get my blood sugar levels under control, this should slow down the fundal growth a little . OB and Endocrinologist appointments are now every two weeks.

SUGAR - I have to have another GTT at the end of the month!!! I feel for your fingers but after a couple of weeks they will toughen up. My diabetes educator told me to use the middle three fingers and to rotate from one hand to the next each day. I ended up just pricking my right hand mostly as I'm left handed and it was more comfy. Pricking your finger is more uncomfortable than giving yourself insulin if it comes to that for you. Once I got my sugars under control babies growth took care of itself in 3-4 weeks so don't stress. Make sure you buy yourself some black glucose jelly beans and have them stashed everywhere as if you have low levels a couple of jelly beans will bring you up quickly. I had them in the car and every room in my house!!!

AFM - US was all good and so were swab results so will put it down to one of those things!!!! Didn't get to find out sex of bump as he wasn't laying in good position but morph scan in 3 weeks so fingers crossed for then!!!!

Sugar you are so right what's happening girls you must have some good stories???
Sugar it's a bugger about the diabetes but sounds like you will get it under control it's something I will probably have to watch when I'm preggers

    How is everyone??
Micca when do you start again?.

Afm I'm not enjoying this round of drugs I have heaps of side effects which has been crappy as I have been at a work conference this week and I'm supper tired and grumpy because I have a headache most days anyway I had my first intrilipid infusion today which was interesting took about two hours to administer not too bad. I had my scan and bt and my lining is at 7mm and I have 17 follicles but the biggest is only 11mm so I'm back in for a scan on Monday and if all goes to plan I should have my eggs collected on Thursday or Friday bring it on I say!!!!!!!

Hi All, sorry to hear so many of you are experiencing very trying times. I have been scarce as I was really worried about the NT scan and other's bad news was scaring me further. Anyway, had the scan today and every looked really good - bubs was waving and measuring spot on. Heard the heartbeat which was awesome and the 1:45 risk I had for DS (due to my age) is now 1:325. I'm very relieved, very happy and looking forward to actually sleeping and not stressing tonight. I hope everyone else's news is just as good.
