Micca - I am so sorry about your miscarriage I really wish things were different and that everthing was going well for you.... I hope that your little girl is better really soon, I completely understand your worry about having an emergency with her and no fuel.

Goldie - congrats on picking your donor it is such a great feeling!!!

    Hi everyone else

AFM - My TWW is over, I started bleeding on Sunday. Am still bleeding
Hadn't really got my hopes up but would have been nice to be able to say that I'd got my BFP.... Oh well.
Annoyingly I contact QFG about getting my hands on some more of my donor sperm and all the laws have changed so I have had to go on a waiting list that has the potential to be a 3-4mth waiting list Really wish that I could skip that wait if possible.... They say that often the first 2-3mths following a D&C can be the best time to fall pregnant and this wait will take me out of that period. Also have to keep my fingers crossed that I don't end up having another D&C in 6mths time... Had one in August last year and again in April.
Oh well... I can't change the way things will just have to sit back and enjoy myself the next couple of months while I wait.
    Take care everyone!!!

blue angel.... bummer about the BFN... Im so sorry... that sucks... what was the change to the laws?? the other option you could ask about it if you can order you prior donor pick from ?xytex and sort it out yourself.. I was lucky with my sperm as I already have a child from the same donor so there are no issues with it at all. also I find that the donor coordinator at QFG is good but the ladies that seem to look after it when she is away are hopeless... so make sure you spoke to the normal lady..I cant remember her name.

You are most welcome to join me in the pity party ,,,lol although I think my waistline is beginning to show me the extra food...lol...

    Hey gals...

At risk of being a TMI question, but I am in the unknown.

So the night of the first insemination, about an hour after, I started experiencing sever cramps and pulling in the approximate area of my cervix. I then got blown over with a massive fever and spent the night basically crouched under a cold shower. The following day I slept for over 3 hours. Another insemination last night and another fever although not as bad. Also I have been experiencing an abundance of clear cm!! Like every time I go to the loo. Don't know what to think, I am worrying myself sick.

Can anyone help as to whether the above is a good or bad sign. Don't think the 2ww is going to be very fun with all this stressing.

chan... i think you are allergic to the sperm.... it is not uncommon to develop antibodies against the sperm. the only way you can find out is specialised tests with a fs. but if this is the case then you may not be able to get pregnant via traditional methods.. and ivf may be your only option... definately get it checked
    xxx

Im not trying to sound like a doom slayer or anthing.. but its worthwhile excluding this... as it is a pretty major thing if you have it...

Thanks Micca!! I was actually thinking that but then I thought, as if you can be allergic to it!! I have had a virus recently that affected my immunity, so I am wondering if my body is confused!

    Hi ladies
Just checking in... It's great to see some newbies join our thread!!!
Micca - sorry to hear about your miscarriage lots

AFM - I'm 32..5 weeks and I'm so over things at moment. I have severe back and groin pain and am hardly getting any sleep. Thank god I'm not overly big otherwise I would be bed ridden and to top it off I seem to have picked up someone else's runny nose. Bella is getting sick too!! It's pouring with rain here in lovely Launceston so I'm having a quiet weekend.

Blue - so sorry it was a BFFN this time. What are the changes about the sperm? I've heard that this state (NSW) will be changing legislations at the end of the year, ie if I had any sperm left or embryos I would have to use it all up by the end of the year or it gets thrown out as my donor is from Victoria, despite already having a child, so if I want to keep going I would have to pull my finger out and get it over and done with. I haven't decided what I'm doing yet, kind of resigned myself off the ivf train at this point I think. I've also heard it's 'easier' to fall pregnant after a D&C but it made no difference to me, I had one done after a m/c then another one 6 weeks after that bcs I had what they call 'retained products' after the 1st one which meant not all my lining had come away which set me back quite awhile, even then it still took another 20 months to eventually get pregnant, however I had other issues so there's no way of knowing if I didn't have the antibodies killing off my embryos whether I would have got pregnant any sooner. I would just use this waiting time to do your best to enjoy some normalsy in your life and/or in getting in tip top condition ready for your next cycle, ie go on a health kick, take all your vitamins, de-stress etc, whatever takes your fancy to try and get your mind off it bcs then the time will go quicker.

Chan - I was thinking same as Micca, it's possible you could be allergic to the sperm, I have heard of some women that are, as weird as it sounds, allergic to sperm, I know one of my aunts was allergic to her husband! I'd see a doc if you can, I think it's odd that you experienced the same symptoms after each insemination, if you were to get these symptoms just the one time perhaps it was just coincidence and you could be coming down with something.

Nelle - well you are definately at the business end of your pregnancy, it does get rather uncomfortable, are you still working? It would be hard to get rest if you still are and runnying after a toddler, hope you both don't get too sick, we've just spent the last 2 weeks being sick, it has been a nightmare.

Leanne - hair loss from taking DHEA is pretty common, I generally lose a fair bit due to my PCOS and seemed to lose a bit more when I was on DHEA but not too much more, it really looked like heaps when I swept it all up off the bathroom floor everyday but lucky my hair is on the thickish side.

    Hi everyone

Micca -The changes as I understand them, from the lady at QFG, are because of legistation here in Australia that wants to ensure that the donors from the US are aware that they would go on a register and that any potential child would be able to access their details and get in touch with them. So they have to have counselling from a counsellor from ?Australia, even though they have to go through counselling in the US. It means that there are very few donors that have had that second counselling so there is now a waiting list. Apparently it could be up to 3-4mths waiting for a donor, the lady at QFG did say that if I wasn't particularly fussy it may not be that long as apparently there are some people who have been very particular about their donor. This is for IUI quality sperm - they said they had IVF quality sperm that was available however I wanted to try IUI again. I have an appointment with my FS on Tuesday to talk to her about where to to now!

Kismet - Thanks... I have been learning Latin and Ballroom dancing and tomorrow night I am doing an exhibition dance in front of possibly 150+ people. I have been loving my dancing lessonsso I am going to look forward to so more dancing and will work on getting some fitness back. I reckon that I put on a fair bit of weight while I was taking clomid and giving myself gonal-f injections.

Nelle - thinking of you.... A quiet weekend sounds like a lovely idea! You deserve it.

Everyone else I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.I am heading for a stressful day tomorrow and the hopefully sunday will be stress free.... however I do have my parents staying with me so three people in a one bedroom apartment - not good if it's raining all weekend!

Chan - do u think it is just your body being super stressed about doing the AI, coming from someone that did it, it is horrendous . I literally stopped breathing whilst doing it all.

Stress does crazy things and I would hate to think ur allergic to it 😭 I feel like an am too and would be happy to never see it again 😃. Other than that did it go okay? Any uncomfortable moments ? Lots I bet 😳

I wish I had someone in SA to come with me when I do do AI would be so much easier.

I have to say with all the legislation changes to the donor sperm it sounds like it may actually be easier to have a cycle in the states soon... afterall you save $600 just on not having to pay transport costs...

Kismet I dont understand your situation is it just because your donor is from victoria or is it all donor sperm?
my plan is to do the ivf cycle in sept and if it fails do a FET before the end of the year... of course if I ended up with anothe chemical pregnancy it might delay that...

still waiting for AF.... come on!!!!!!!!!!! come on !!!!!!!
