hi ladies just wanted to report in and let you know how things are going......
not so good at the moment. my blood glucose is misbehaving, i have my 2nd GTT either tomorrow or thursday i highly anticipate being told we have GD. Fair chance also that once no longer pregnant that i will be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes or so the diabetes dietician tells me.

i went for my normal hospital appt today to be told by the dr that the heart murmur ive had since i was 3 or 4 is much much worse and that i need to have an echocardiogram and see a cardiologist ASAP!!! i dont thin!!g freaking out is quite the right word - although would explain why my heart has been racing alot lately as well as the tiredness and the dizziness of the past few weeks

Also dr measured my fundal height as 30cm which is 8 to 10cm more than should be - i measured it myself and i measure 26cm which means either one are outside the standard 18-22cm that it should be!!

all in all not a good day and i sit here wondering honestly can the day get any worse the upside is that i did hear bumps heartbeat and a week ago when i had ultrasound his growth was on track..... so enought of my pity party!!

    Hope everyone is well

nelle....wow what a crappy day you have had... so sorry to hear about the GD..that truely sucks... I hope that you can manage that simply with diet this time. Wow about the heart murmer.. thats a worry..sounds like you are being well looked after by the specialists... have you considered what you will do if you are made to go on bedrest in the 3rd trimester?? always such a worry with us single mummies... I hope that all the appointments go well... you managed one pregnancy already so I hope that you can get through this with the minimal fuss. hugs to you.

Leanne...how are you going????????? just sending you a huge hug

sugar... hope you are enjoying the cool change... it feels like bliss here... hmm manicure sounds lovely.. lol on your princess Fiona feet.

well AF arrived today...so Im CD1... I have my hystereoscopy - biopsy and lipoidal flush booked for thursday am... and my baseline scan on sunday. So if it is all good I should start stimming sunday.
the sperm race continues... it is still in the usa...Ive got about 17days to get it..so Im getting a little antsy now as Im not willing to do an entire cycle of stimming and have to cancel because of no sperm... I emailed the coordinator tonight and enquired about shipping it as a separate batch if the shipping will be delayed... I sort of get the feeling that perhaps things could move a little faster than they are at the clinics end... as it has been 10 days since the reassured me it would be sent last week.
So Im gearing up... got a quick ultrasound yesterday and it was all great..the follicle that stuffed up the cycle is resolved... about 12 antral follicles (prob more but sonographer was very junior) and my baseline was 6mm pre AF..so I am very happy..considering it was 6mm post AF the last few cycles.
So flights are booked, car hired and off to brisbane tomorrow.. short trip and then back up in 2 weeks for EPU if it all goes well...
    FIngers crossed...xxx

Leanne - Any news hun, Im worried about you .

Nelle - Im sorry things are getting you so down . Not nice about the GD, I was diagnosed with that too, but you dont have it. Im sorry about your heart, really the last thing you need when pregnant is heart problems.
My fundal height has been measuring 4-6 weeks ahead since around 22w, try not to stress too much about that, you could just have alot of fluid or the OB could have measured your incorrectly (see my AFM). I hope all goes ok with your cardio appt.

Micca - yay for AF arriving ! Hope all goes well tomorrow with all of your procedures and travel safe up to Brissie. I really hope this sperm arrives on time, would be so annoying to have to cancel for that reason!

AFM - I had my hospital appointments yesterday, saw a different OB than the one I normally see, he did a quick scan for me as he was concerned about some of the notes in my file from the other OB, checked the fluid level and said it all looked normal, measured bubs and she is measuring about 2 weeks ahead, but did say that has has really long legs as they are measuring 3 weeks ahead, but she is looking lovely and healthy (oh and I asked him to confirm she was a girl as I keep having thoughts of what if its really a boy and they made a mistake! Yep, still a girl in there ). He has given me a referal to have another scan with the sonographer just to double check everything, so have to do that end of next week.
Biggest shock was he measured my fundal height, which at last appt was measuring 6 weeks ahead, and it measuring right on track according to his measurement at 32.5!! He thinks that the other OB has been measuring incorrectly, WTF ! So all in all, perhaps Im not going to have such a 'HUGE' baby afterall .
Sorry that was a bit long............

Leanne - , so sorry matey, I know how gutted you would be. It just sucks.

Micca - hope they get spermies shipped off soon. Mmm I'm doing this cycle on a budget, I would love to add alot of extras to it but can't. FS suggested growth hormone but it's too expensive, I'm just going along with what we did last time, if I was working it would be different. What is inositol, what does it do? I'm in two minds of having surgery to take a look at things, FS didn't mention I should but think I want a scan at least to check out my ovaries, they copped alot from previous cycles and were still enlarged during my pregnancy and since I haven't been on the pill for ages perhaps my cycts could be back.

Sugar - sounds like everything is going well. They just like to scare us sometimes , I think we are in a world of too much information.

Nelle - I had GD, it wasn't too bad really, the diet was pretty easy but didn't control my insulin so had to have injections which I was use to anyway. I was fine once bub was born, but do have to pull my head in and watch my diet as I will be at risk of getting type 2 when I'm older (easier said than done, I kind of fell of the wagon once bub was born & it's been hard to get back on due to not having this thing called time anymore!). Hopefully you won't have it. Also hope your heart murmur doesn't create anymore dramas for you. I had one as a kid but was lucky to find it had disappeared.

    to all you lovely ladies.

Nelle - I hope that the bloods are all good and that you don't have GD. Good luck with the cardiology appointment - will be thinking of you!!! Hope that your heart murmur doesn't cause you anymore drama's!

Leannep - I am so sorry that AF turned up!! Am thinking of you and sending you lots of love. Good luck for tomorrow and I hope that your FS is helpful !!

Sugar - 32.5 that's great that bubs is measuring on track!!! Loved that you wanted them to make sure that you still had a girl there and not a boy!! Hope all goes well with the next scan in a week.

Micca - So glad that AF turned up .... Good luck with everything while your up my way!! and I really hope that your little swimmers turn up before you need them!!! that getting in touch with the clinic yourself produces the results that you need to continue this month!! It would just be so unfair to be doing everything that you are this month for it to be cancelled because of no swimmers.
Thanks for the PM's and the support that you have given me over the last week... I really appreciate it and will definitely consider changing my FS if this cycle doesn't do anything.
AFM - Well looks like AF is well on her way!!! That could explain the cravings and blowouts that I have been having with regards to chocolate and food in general. Also not much energy over the last couple of days. Tomorrow may well be day 1 so might have to have my first BT in the morning after finishing my nightshift! Will have to wait and see - will let you know!
So if it's a BT tomorrow will have some idea of what my hormones are doing at the beginning of the cycle which we haven't known yet... I have lots of hope that this cycle might not be a bust like the others have been!!!

leanne.......... just huge huge hugs sweetie.... I hope that you can have a nice comfort food binge and have a little cry....

sugar... great news on the fundal height... some OBs do measure it differently.. Im glad it is all good and the ultrasound proved it was still a girl..lol.... wow on those super long legs.... DD is super tall... on the 12month chart she is so far above the 97th centile.... but she is slim so fits a lots of clothes longer..they just turn into capris quicker... I keep meaning to tell you... dont buy too many 00 sizes... I found that this was the size she grew out of the quickest... like a month.... I got the best wear out of the 000 and 0s...

nelle.... bummer on the GD... at least you sound resigned to just getting on with it... bummer about all the needles again...

kismet ....lets hope that this cycle works for you without the extras... its certainly a kill factor with the saizen at $1600 and luveris $1300 of course then the sperm costs too.... Im just hoping that it will give me top notch embies so that it works first go and I have some to freeze... then the extra cost will be worth it....at least thats what Im telling myself.
inositol is part of the Bgroup vitamins and it has shown great guns in improving egg quality (bit like DHEA) and it works super well when mixed with the triad of DHEA and melatonin... you can get it in powdered form here from health food shops..you need about 2g a day... I have ordered some from the states..not sure if it will arrive in time or not... but I will take it as soon as I get it... I already get the DHEA and melatonin from the states.
blueangel....come on AF come on !!!! lets hope your blood tests are good..Id make an appointment with warren now..it will be a few months to get in... hey it worked for me... I made an appointment with him and then got my BFP... and had to postpone the appointment for a year !!... lets hope that this is your cycle...

ok made it to brisbane last night... glad I left then too...as our town is in the news with flooding and evacuations... I would not have got out this morning at all.... hope my house is ok... its on a hill so the flooding tends to come with the water running down the hill into the basement..and my granny flat...lol.. guess Ill find out on sunday. at least the carpet is still up from last weeks flood. It was yet another trip of shooting up in an airport bathroon..lol..I have done so many..and now I get excited if there is a sharps bin in there as well... who knew that I would be happy at things like that lol.... I think the security man had a double check when he saw my needle in the hand luggage..god knows what he thought... probably a diabetic..as I forgot to get a letter to carry the needles onboard..lol... although I did not need to due to the sharps box. but I have got one for the return trip.

Had lipoidal flush and hystereoscopy today... so tired..was 11pmlast night by the time I got to bed and was up at 530am.. but all went well.. general anaesthetic was good..just tired and a little nauseous now.. (although pie and milk probably responsible for that) also called in to clinic and picked up my $3000 worth of drugs...wow.
Oh and the sperm race was sorted...all pre surgery in the waiting room ..lol..lol... god love mobile phones... clinic stuffed up payment and normal lady away so they dont know how to fix it...hence the delay. But they were happy to have me get it shipped... so I phoned the usa and organised it easily... so the spermies are shipped friday... another $600 ontop of sperm costs of $900 but worth the extra charge to have them in the country and not risk a cancelled cycle. I feel much better now, its like a weight has left my shoulders.
My mother is with me and has been looking after DD which has been a godsend as she is in hyperdrive from not wanting to sleep this arvo.

must be time for a cuppa and treat..lol...
next thing is sunday for my baseline uss and bloods... then I can start injecting sunday night... that is after I get home and see what water is in my house...it will be wet carpets if any...

    xxx

Micca - sounds like all systems go with you & all coming together. Hope your house will be safe.

Nelle - bummer about GD. I did the injections in my thigh & hardly felt a thing, it worried me doing it in my pregnant belly even though was told it would be ok, I also figured my poor belly had been thru enough pre pregnancy & it had a big enough job to do getting stretched and fat. I hated pricking my finger 4 times a day though, make sure your fingers are warm.
