Default 6 weeks post partum check for mums, what do they check?

Today I brought my bb for his first gp appointment n the doctor said I have to go back in about 6 weeks for a full checkup for myself..

I know there is pap smear in that 6 weeks check but what else so they check??

I was just asked questions about how I was feeling, we discussed contraception and the baby was checked out

I was offered a pap smear after my first baby, but declined. It was never offered again! I think the doc may have palped my tummy, but that's it.
    Every doctor is different though.

    Congrats on you new baby!

A mine they checked my c-section scar (friends said they had any va jay jay stiching checked for healing) and was offered a pap smear and contraception was discussed. She also had a quick look over baby. It was pretty quick and straight forward.

    At mine they:

    - Checked my c-section scar
    - Palpitated my stomach to check my uterus
    - Discussed contraception
    - Let me ask any questions I had

I wasn't offered a pap smear, because I'd had one 2 months prior to falling pregnant.

I've never had an internal at my 6 week PP check, all that happened was questions really
How was I feeling, emotionally and physically.
    Asked how the bleeding was,
    Headaches? Pains Anywere?
    Contraception
And just pushed on my belly to make sure my uterus had contracted properly

The pap smear is only if you're due for one anyway. I think they give you a PND questionnaire as well. And generally just check that your bleeding has settled, there's no other issues. Nothing scary

Mine was pretty basic, just a few questions about how I'm feeling and they vaccinated and checked over bub. I didn't get poked or prodded at all I did have a fair amount of that in hospital before I was discharged though (as well as a talk about contraceptives) so I was glad to get out of it

i never had a 6 week pp checkup - or i did and totally forgot about it? I went to my gp on my own when my bleeding stopped about 2mths after birth to get the implanon put in. Also got a pap smear done then as it was offered.
