    Default Your chemical PG experience

I may have had/will have a chemical pregnancy - I don't know. AF is late by a day or two, so on the day it was due (yesterday) I did a HPT that came back quickly with a very faint positive. I've read enough times here that a positive is a postive, no matter how faint - but the next day (today - 15DPO) I had two negative HPTs (from the same 3-pack of First Response tests). I really thought this was my month, too - even have sore boobs, had what I thought was implantation bleeding and of course, AF is late. So does this mean that it was a chemical pregnancy? Does this mean that I WAS pregnant but it didn't stick, or I AM pregnant and it's not going to stick? I don't understand the difference between a chemical pregnancy and a M/C but I feel like I'm just waiting now for the bleeding to start...

A chem preg is when the hormones take off but the embryo doesn't. So with Ivf the drugs make your body think its gearing up and then maintaing a pregnancy.......so when the embryo doesn't implant the hormone levels are still doing what they were medically told to do.

I have had 2 chem pregs. 1 after the other.....both with 2 embies.

Just like a slightly heavier period.

*hugs* I'm so sorry to hear you've gone through that. Thanks for explaining it, though. That may be what I've had - AF started yesterday and it's much heavier than normal, although I've also been taking vitex for the first part of my cycle and I wonder if that's contributed to my messed up cycle this month.

Is there any way to confirm that you've had a chemical pregnancy? I guess if you're taking the 'glass half full' view then at least your body's trying to get PG, right?
