    Default Going backwards...?

DS is not yet crawling but he can shuffle the tiniest bit.

He doesn't get up onto knees and hands yet but is tucking his legs up more underneath him.

Only thing with the shuffling he does er he is moving backwards!

    Is that right?

My niece never really crawled properly, she did this sideways crab shuffle thing. She never went forwards. She walked early though. Probably cause she was frustrated at going sideways lol.

Every kid is different. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.

    Happy Easter :-)

He is almost 5 1/2 months.

Might be an old wives tale but do chubby bubs crawl earlier than leaner ones?

Had ppl tell me he is putting on some chub finally and will help him crawl soon???

What 5.5 months? umm hun my baby didn't start crawling till he was 9.5 months old. Relax he is fine, don't listen to what anyone says every baby is different. I got the "he should be doing this, he should be doing that" also. Just nod, smile and walk away.

My dd was a skinny little runt!! She army crawled at 5.5 months and hand/ knee crawled before 6 months. I was told that was early so I surely wouldn't worry yet!!

very normal to go backwards first

I always thought smaller bubs would move sooner because they had less weight to lift.

DD was a BIG baby and it took her months before she could lift her massive head off the floor
Walk a mile in someones' shoes before you judge them,
that way, when you do judge them,
you are a mile away.. and you have their shoes.
