Default Can i claim back for prescriptions with MBF basic hospital cover?

I only joined my health fund in October and am wondering if I can claim back for prescriptions for Zofran during pregnancy once I am in the fund a for a year? Do they back pay? Or are prescriptions not covered?

Some of you might know that it costs $10 per tablet so it would be nice to get a little cash back!

    Default Can't claim

    Hi there,
A few weeks ago I tried to claim for Zofran from MBF and the claim was knocked back. They said that zofran was listed on the PBS (for use in cancer patients) and therefore no benefit applies.
Of course, Zofran is indeed non-PBS for morning sickness, as you'll see on your pharmacy receipt. It's a loophole they use to get out of paying you.
Actually, after that I changed health funds........

I claim for my Zofran, but you don't get much back. If you have extras cover with pharmacuticals you can claim. If you only have hospital cover, no you can't, same as if your extras doesn't cover pharma. Check your level. For a pack of wo which I pay $150 for (8mg ones) I get about $30-40 back.
    Oh and I'm with Medibank.
