I take the boys for theirs at Just Cuts and have always found them great If Im just going for a trim up I use them and have had no probs, if I want a complete restyle I will go to a salon as they have more time to spend with me .)

I try to stay far far away from Just Cuts. They've ruined my hair once before. And DP got a cut there that made him look like peewee herman. *sigh*

I like Stefan, they're not too expensive, and usually pretty easy to get into.

I've been there a few times for a "quick trim" and never had any problems.

I have longish hair and I only even get it shortened and layered. I don't know how anyone could stuff that up!!??

I usually do my own fringe, I hate anyone cutting it besides myself.

When I have time I get it cut and coloured at a proper salon.

I'm pretty happy with Just Cuts. I've had lots of haircuts from there as well as DD and they've been alright. I went to another one the other day and I wasn't happy at all so will be going back to just cuts. I have fine straight longish hair which I get layers for which is pretty simple really so nothing complicated. I like the Just Cuts prices and how it's quick.

I have found them great. I don't bother with expensive hair dressers anymore as they don't do any better job.

I've only had terrible experiences with cheaper salons. I go to a quite expensive salon, but I only go 3-4 times a year and I only get a cut, no colour. I find that as well as being much nicer, a well-cut style will last much longer than a dodgy one, so for me it represents good value.

They're great for the kids and DP...but I'll never use them again for myself. They gave me such an uneven hideous cut, that was so embarrassing that I had to go somewhere else to get fixed up!
(no way was I going to risk that again with their 7 day hair cut policy) lol

Thanks heaps for all the replies! Seems there have been mixed experiences with them, and I have to say I'm a little bit put off them.

Previous to this I had been mostly going to the hairdresser who I started seeing when I was 16 (am 33 now, so quite a long time). My sister had also started going to her but we both decided that we're no longer happy with her haircuts. She's ok, but just a bit too conservative, in that if we say we want it layered she just doesn't do it properly and barely even takes off the split ends. She used to work at a salon (I followed her around) and since having kids she works from home.

Anyway so I think I'll look around and maybe I'll just have to suck it up and pay a bit more. My best haircut ever was at an Edward Beale salon and I notice they have a training salon in South Yarra, so I might call them and see what their rates are.

    Thanks again everyone

I go to Just Cuts (Eastland) every 6 weeks for my hair cut and can't fault them, in the 6 years I have been going there I think I have had one bad cut.

I have a 'style' cut which requires a bit of work and they still only charge me $25 for the cut. I then go home and colour it and I'm done.

Heaps cheaper than if i was to go and try and 'proper' salon, I could never understand my friends that brag about their $150 cuts

    Default Finding the right hairdresser

I personally can't really give an opinion on 'Just Cuts' but from what I've seen and heard from people, most of the hairdressers are not that great. It's not only about the haircut itself but it's also about the overall experience so it's worth going to a salon where there has been positive feedback. Yes they may be a tad more expensive then salons like 'Just Cuts' but you will most likely get the results you want without being rushed out in 10-15mins max for a haircut.
