    Default *Possibly distressing warning*

Why would you leave your children behind if you were getting abused? Wouldnt you do everything you could to remove them from the situation as well.

It stated in the article that he had never been violent or abusive towards the children previously.

She was probably in a horrible horrible horrible DV situation.

I feel so much for her and those two little boys!

I think it's so hard to pass judgement on a situation based on one news report.

I know its not easy to leave a DV situation, I've been there. I feel sorry for the mum. I just don't understand why you would leave your children with an abusive partner.

Because she felt so disempowered from the DV that she wasn't able to take them with her! Because she feared for her own life but at the time thought her children would be safe. There are so many possible reasons!

I'll be back later to post, but I hold no judgement against the mother

Australian courts award custody to men who harm thier children all the time.

It said in the article that there was a custody hearing. So she was trying to get her children.

I can't bear to think of the toddler's last moments.

There are many instances where women need to flee a DV situation and have to leave their children behind for a time.

I feel so very sorry for those precious little children and for this poor woman.
