Default A message for anyone who wears breast pads

I have just bought some Lilypadz and had to tell everyone how great they are. They are $35 and silicone (i think) breast pads. They are reusable, and will last for months.

They are so comfortable to wear, you can even wear them to bed with no bra and they stay on all night!!! No leaking!! You cant see an outline of them when you wear fitted tops either.

All you do is wash them in water with mild soap and they are ready to go again. Best $35 i have ever spent.

I cant believe i'm this excited about breast pads!!!

Go here to check them out if you are interested. I bought mine from a local chemist. They are apparently hard to find but you can find who stocks them on the website!!

    Hi,
I'm glad you have had a better time with Lilypadz than me, I was so hopeful about them but for me they haven't turned out quite so well. My baby was 6-7 months odl when I got them and they leaked the first time I tried them (at night). I still wore a bra so they would stay in place etc easier but I think the pressure of milk was too much. It also says on teh site that they are breathable but I find that they are all sweaty when I take them off (sorry if TMI).

I do still use them, when I go out to dinner at night or something, at a time when I know I probably don't need breast apds at all but want something there in case. This has been OK. But after 3 nights of waking up wet in the mornings I am not using them at night anymore. And I don't leak that muich any more, its strange. I think I am using them right.

What do you do about cleaning them? They seem to have a little bit of milk on when it is time for a feed so I don't like putting them back on again without washing them but when I wash them it takes ages to dry!

Sorry to disappoint anyone, I just wondered if successful users had any tips!!

I got mine from the ABA by the way.

    Sue

PS Having seen them I would not be keen to buy any off EBay unless they were brand new (never used) either. I would be worried about other people's germs in the sticky stuff I think.

I also had a few problems to start with so went back the the instructions, as long as you let your breast fall naturally when you want to put them on and apply enough pressure they go on right (so I have found) they are like a suction cup and when they are on you properly you can see no air pockets.

With cleaning and having them dry i just shake them really hard to get all of the excess moisture off and then leave them to dry for a few mins and they are fine. I havent had the problem with them being "sweaty" either yet but this is only my first week.

I used to leak all the time with normal breast pads drawing the milk out and absorbing it but these act more as a seal and have gone 5 nights now with out a bra!! YAY

I also would not buy them off of ebay for hygiene reasons. You can sterelise them though if you were worried about germs....i would be sterelising them a few times though......

Hope some other people have luck with these!
