Default Who's been to New York or Miami?!

So who can recommend me some good hotels to stay at each place?

We have our DD who will be 16 months old, so for NY we would like to be close to times sq but where it isnt too busy or noisy.

For Miami DH wants to stay at Miami beach... I'm hoping to road trip to Disneyland too though!

We haven't stayed in NY or Miami with our kids, but we have done a far bit of travel with them. Most hotels are airconditioned and quiet inside, no matter what kind of madness is going on outside! With only one bub at least you won't have any restrictions on your room - two kidlets mean that most hotels don't want you without taking two rooms - which I just don't want to do yet. Novotel have really good kids policies ie in the room and eat free.
Have a wonderful holiday - are you visiting family/friends as well?

Oh, and if its just you, dh and the little one if you want a night on the town see if the hotel has a babysitting service mentioned on their website. I'm sure most hotels will organise a sitter if enough notice is given. We've never used one, though the thought has been there. We often stay in serviced apartments now so the kids can have a separate room, otherwise we spend a lot of time in a darkened room willing our children to go to sleep. Not too bad if we're all jetlagged but painful otherwise.

We took the kids to New York for a week last year. It was awesome. This is where we stayed: http://www.affinia.com/New-York-City...S|b|7402184115

Its slap bang in the middle of Times Square but the noise was never an issue.

I assume I am now "Masts Mum"

I'd rate it 9. The only reason it didn't get a 10 is that there wasn't a ramp to the main lobby. It was stairs or an escalator and we had a double buggy. There were probably 10 stairs (but with suitcases and buggies, it was a daunting prospect!!) However, when we first arrived, about 3 porters appeared out of nowhere and just sorted our cases at the bottom of the stairs while we went to our room. And after that, the door man was always there and every time he helped DH lift it (sometimes with kids in) up the stairs.

Other than that, I honestly couldn't fault the place.

PS I am also insanely jealous!!

Last time I went to Miami was before DD was born, so we didn't book ahead - we just showed up and got a booking on the spot (which is what we tended to do pre-DD). I know you'll probably want to organise somewhere in advance, but my point was just that there were LOADS of hotels all along the beach, and even though ours was right in the middle of things it was still quiet.

I can't remember the name, which I know is not helpful! But it had lots of palm trees all lit up in gold lights, and it was kind of set back from the road.

That's probably no help - sorry! But have an awesome time
