Its quite confusing depending on what state your in
    Vic there's
3year old kinder (not gov funded 4hrs a week) the child need to be 3yrs by April 30th
4yrs old kinder (gov funded 12-15hrs a week) the child need to be 4yrs by April 30th
    (neither of these are compulsory)

prep (primary school 5 days a week 9-3:30) they need to be 5yrs by April 30th

if there birthdays after 30th April they have to wait until the following year to attend

primary school is prep,1,2,3,4,5 and 6
high school is 7,8,9,10,11 and 12

How is everyone? I am pretty inconsistent in coming back to chat threads, but not for lack of trying. the uni work, and DS, and maintaining the house just eat up way more time than there is in one day...

Who is starting school next year?
DS is having his cognitive assessment on wednesday and I am pretty worried. I mean, I want him to score under 55 so he can go into the support unit (where I believe he needs to be), but I am worried that I will somehow feel different if he scores that low. I know that may sounds horrile, but it does worry me. It won't change who he is, but I am still stresing majorely...

Not much else has happened really, slow gains on the talking and signing, no gains physically in terms of feeding and dressing and toileting...

Attitude wise he has become so difficult though, perhaps that is typical for a five year old though...

Anyways, chat to you all soon.

    And HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALEX!!!

    Hi Everyone,

Ive been so busy!! Miss E narrowly avoided getting grommets. We have a review next month. Although she has now been referred to a speech therpaist by her early intervention teacher because even though we are doing EI she is still not talking.

She is also getting new waterproof hearing aid!! Thats very exciting

My little J man is 5 months old now. He has started EI. Our plan was to take them on the same day but thats 'to hard' for their teacher apparently so now we have to go on mondays and tuesday/ Plus I have to find someone to watch E because J gets to distracted by her.

We were declinded for carers payment. But after we meet with the speechie and get a formal diagnosis I will call them back. A spoke with a social worker and she said I was so close that if we had any changes its likely to be approved

    Hope everyone is well!

Im over it. Alex is stressing me out so bad. Im doing the PPP (positive Parenting Program) but its not doing much to help to be honest. Im over the melt downs, im over her hurting herself (biting, hitting etc). Im over the sensory restrictions, im over the speech delays .....grrrrr

Myhusbandswife - that is good that she didn't need grommets I am guessing? I am a little uneducated when it comes to the world of hearing loss.
Waterproof hearing aids will be fantastic too!!!

Peta - what is Alex doing that is stressing you out? I might be able to offer some suggestions if you give specifics. (only if you want to).
I definitely know what you mean about being over it though!

We are heading off on our weekend away tomorrow, I plan to spend the whole time forgetting about all the things that are stressing me out, and will think about all that again when I come home on Monday.

    That's beautiful widget!

We have arrived in caloundra. Half excited for the weekend away, and half stressed more than I was at home.

Thanks Widget, I really needed to read that right now... going through a very trying time. Sometimes I think God has more faith in me than I do.
