Nikki - how did you get on at the specialist? I agree that 6 weeks is a long time with no adjustment. We decided to see a chiropractor too (after the harness was removed) and that was a tremendous help! It really helped her after being in that position for so long. I can highly recommend it on top of the specialist and hospital. Phew it's a lot to take in though, isn't it?

Curly how are you and your little one? It is such a horrible time, isn't it? We took lots of photos (was determined not to miss out onthat part of her life) and I wore her in a baby carrier to keep her upright and happy. Both things made a big difference to us. I'm so sorry for you and your baby. It's not fair is it? she is probably just frustrated. It's so hard to give them proper cuddles when they are in there and I dint care what any specialist says, my DD was miserable in that thing!
Bouncer should be okay in the pavlik as long as she fits? We used one and it didn't interfere with the position the harness had her in so she was fine. It's so hard when they want to be upright isn't it? That's why we had the carrier.
Hope you are both doing Ok

    Hello Mrs Molly Coddle
    Thank you for caring
We are actually doing really great! She is now being such a little trooper, back to her normal smiley self.
It just makes me appreciate my 2 kiddies and life so much more, seeing how brave she is being. I realised that if this is the worst I have to go through with my babies, than I am so extremely lucky, because I know other parents are faced with much tougher situations than mine.
I had to take her for her 2 month immunisations yesterday and afterwards they gave her a bravery certificate and I almost cried! I thought omg she really deserves one of these, so i framed it and put it in her bedroom!
I did face one huge problem tonight though.... Her nappy leaked and her harness got wee on it I'm not too sure how to dry it off. I got so upset about it. i have wrapped the straps in paper towel and put some sports sweat pads in the back but it still really wet and I'm so worried about it irritating her skin! Have you faced this problem? what did you do? Thankfully we have an appointment on tuesday! I can't wait til tuesday!! I am counting down the hours until than!

Aw a bravery certificate! How sweet
I found the hospital appts very good for giving me some perspective.
So glad to hear your little one is a happy camper again!

As for the soiled harness, we were told if it was heavily soiled that we should take it off. It never got badly weed on, but did get badly poo'd on once and I had to take it off and wash it. If it's very wet, I would perhaps takes it off and dry it with a hairdryer, but only if you feel confident that you can put it back on correctly. If you mark where the straps meet and take photos showing her leg positions, that might help.
Otherwise, i would just keep going with the paper towel etc. Just keep changing it as it absorbs the moisture. Check under her straps to see if there is much irritation. Maybe you could slip some baby powder under the straps if it seems to be bothering her skin?

Would love to hear how the appt goes on tuesday. All the best!!

    Hi Mrs Molly Coddle

Darcy is seeing the specialist tomorrow - I cannot wait! I really want to know how her harness is working and make sure it has been fitted correctly. Any additional information will be great! Hopefully it is working really well

I would love to post a pic of my little angel, and also see your little angel, however your link isn't working for me. Would be great if you could let me know where to find them?

    Thanks! xx

    Hi there,

My little girl is 3 now and has hip, knee and wrist dysplasia all on her left side, We do physio 3 times a week and have put her into hydrotherapy too, we had this recommended over the harness for her as she had the prob with her knee and wrist to. I've found that over time she has strengthend her muscles and her hip and knee only pop if she does one of her dare devil stunts.

Does anyone else have a child that is a real dare devil and does not seem to feel the pain of small bumps and bruises, kind of like the a desensitized to it now?

Hi fichicken! I can't say my Ones are like that I'm sorry, though I am often surprised at how they can do a major stack and only cry for a few seconds, yet if they are a bit tired or ill and have a tiny stumble, they can cry for a long time! Maybe ask the physio?? Im not really sure.
Does your little one enjoy te hydrotherapy?
