Dh was doing 6 weeks on 1 week off when we were TTC #4 took 17months then we had a mmc then another 5.5months to get DD3. Previously it had been 2 cycles then pregnant so we weren't quite expecting that long a wait.

fortunately we had realised we were in for a wait (although we thought it would be a much shorter wait than it turned out to be) and aside from marking down my AF on a due date calendar (here if you can see where your EDD day would be based upon AF) and getting a pre-pregnancy check and blood tests due to previous thyroid issues I didn't do anything else, I kept busy with my other 3 kids and jut enjoyed the time DH was home. If I thought we had a good chance of catching O DH would tell me not to tell him just give him a wink and drag him to the bedroom we wanted the romance and the frivolity and boy did we need it with that kind of wait.

feeling a little better about it this morning, but we have come to the conclusion that if it doesn't happen in six months we aren't going to try any longer as we don't want the age gap to big since our other three are all so close.... and i don't know if i could keep trying and trying its heartbreaking, to you all you try and try YOU are AMAZING, WONDERFUL AND SO SUPER STRONG

Good luck cupcakes, my fiance lives overseas and we only see each other half the time, so I will be facing the same issues in a few months.

    Blowing lots of your way.

I hear ya!! My DH is in the Defence Forces and can go away for 6 months at a time. He never seems to be home at the right time. Though it turned out that that wasn't our only problem.

We've just started IVF and luckily he's been home lately, but even that has posed problems. All of his medical stuff has to go through defence, which irritates the hell out of me. Every man and his dog have to get involved it seems. Then when they finally get their acts together and grant permission for him to come with me to see the FS, we make the appointment, he gets approval to leave the base, then at the last minute they say he can't go. So I've been to a lot of the appointments on my own.

He leaves next week for 6 months and we (I) start long down regulation the week after that. We've frozen some of his sperm, so now I can do it all without him...not that I want to. I'm really not looking forward to riding this roller coaster without him here, but it's the only way we're ever going to do this while he has the job he has.

Before we started down the path of long down regulation & ICSI, the FS's plan was for DH to freeze some sperm and we'd use IUI if he was away at the right (wrong) time. Maybe freezing sperm and IUI could be an option for you down the track....if it takes that long.

    Good luck!!
