Thanks. I am 37 and DH is 40. Time is not on our side unfortunately so we really dont want to wait another 6 months before starting again. We live a fair way from Brisbane and most times have to fly down for EPU and transfer so this is another factor as well. We want someone that will work with us regarding travel to make it as stress free as possible. We haven't tried a female FS yet so you never know!!! We are just sick of throwing out money away and starting to get pretty frustrated.

Ask to be put on the cancellation list with WDA as a first step.

Secondly Dr Mooring works out of the same rooms as WDA, and is his protege, so anything WDA does, I suspect she will do too. The advantage is that if you're successful, she can also manage your very precious pregnancy!

I wouldn't disregard any FS who doesn't just do IVF, most of them do either GYN or OB/GYN as well and it doesn't affect their ability to provide IVF services. Certainly Dr Mooring starts consulting almost as early as WDA, so I would definitely go and have a chat to her. You don't have to start cycling with her from that first appointment, and if you're a super-unusual case, I suspect she'll seek advice from WDA. That is what most decent specialists do - seek consensus opinion/advice from colleagues!!

Good luck - you'll be happy with either of them!
This, Charlotte works very closely with Warren so I think safe to say she will offer the same aggressive approach. It is also worth remembering that Warren will be consulting and giving plans but won't be doing the EPU or transfers, Charlotte will be (unless his plans have changed).

Charlotte is absolutely lovely, honest and upfront but very gentle.

Ring up and make an appointment with Dr De Ambrosis and asked to be put on the cancellation list. I did that 2 weeks ago and got called today for an appointment tomorrow. My initial appointment wasn't until July next year so it is definitely worth it to go on the list.

I suppose its the next best thing but just concerned as she is still an Ob and IVF is not her sole focus. We have had 10 failed cycles so a bit of a difficult case. Does anyone have any feedback they could give me? Really appreciate everyones help!
As the others have said, many people have got in quickly via the cancellation list with Warren so I'd encourage that idea, though tricky if you have a way to travel. (Hopefully you have a QFG office nearby to help with the bloods/scans while cycling? I have a few friends doing that with Warren.) I think you would also find Charlotte a great option as she works very closely with Warren and they do dual consults a couple of days a week. Their whole practice is geared around IVF, so they have quite a large staff and really good procedures in place. It can seem a bit chaotic, but they get results.

I can also understand your worries about Ob as our first FS fell into that category and basically was a waste of time and money for IVF - although he would have been my first preference as an ob! I think Charlotte is different though and if I couldn't have Warren I'd go to her. She is lovely, helpful, conscientious and like Warren goes the extra mile. As the others have said he is handing over some procedures to her and I know we were very happy with an ET we had with her and will be having more procedures with her in the new year. Both her and Warren work ridiculously hard and Warren of course used to be an Ob too.

We don't actually count the cycles we had with FS#1 any more when we reflect on our a IVF journey, as he was so conservative we had no chance - hopefully your 10 cycles whilst expensive and draining are a reflection of that - and once you get to Warren/Charlotte you'll get your miracle.

    Good luck!

I'm just here waiting to see Warren in his rooms wondering how he does it day after day with appointments before 6am... I'd gladly crawl back in bed today. So glad Brisbane has Wazza!

I guess I'm still concerned as its such a busy practice I'm after someone that will actually sit down and take the time with us. Seems most FS are pretty rushed these days. I'm really still in two minds with Dr Mooring. We are looking at another doctor so still to make a decision in the New Year.

@Kerpontryingin13 I'm not trying to talk you into Wazza, but he is so far superior IMO to others. I've got complicated non-fertility health issues and have seen a lot of doctors - he is exceptional as an FS, a doctor and a human being. He will give you all the time you need.

I'll PM you to explain why I think this.

    Default first appointment tomorrow!

    Hi again everyone --

So in November we were given an appointment date of late April, but today the receptionist called and a cancellation spot has opened up tomorrow morning. It's only been 4 weeks since I first called to make the appointment - I'm pretty happy about that!

We've read the info and completed all our paperwork... does anyone have any other tips about preparation / questions he might ask? He has all my records from my previous two cycles at another clinic.

    Default Another success with Wazza!

It has been a while since I have posted, but I would like to let everyone know Warren is truly the most amazing man, he really knows what he is doing. I had heard so many first time IVF success stories with him and I was so worried I wouldn't be one of them, I just felt like for so long nothing would work and I felt like it was never going to happen, but now I can finally say I am pregnant, 8 weeks now, all thanks to Warren & the wonderful team! They have been so great and supportive every step of the way, it was definitely worth the wait to see him!
