He does Sat transfers...wow both my other FS did my transfers earlier than our planned 5day transfers as they fell on a Saturday. I actually had an FET on Monday with my last frozen embryo to survive (my sister also did an EPU to donate for us, and that has pretty much failed). Warren saw us looking worried and said to tell our Dr 'get us pregnant or I'll nail your balls to the chair'....hehe I wish I'd asked him then and there if he'd see us next cycle if we didn't get pregnant. LOL maybe you can put in a good word for us tomorrow . Good luck to you for tomorrow, it certainly is a rollercoaster!

Default Dr Warren De Ambrosis - Wazza appreciation thread

So after a natural pregnancy in Feb 14 that ended in early m/c and 8 failed ivf cycles with 2 different qfg specialists, I'm kicking myself that I didn't hear about him a year ago when we started this journey. I have just made an appt with Warren, however I can't get in until March 2016. They did say that if there is a cancellation I may get in earlier, but if he's so great why would anyone cancel? Did any of you get an earlier appt after an initial long wait?
    Hi Gen,
Yes when I first made an appointment with Wazza in 2013 I made the appointment in early May for a November booking.
They offered to put me on the cancellation list but did warn me that I wouldn't be given much notice and that there was a significant waiting list ahead of me (over 35 people). I received a phone call just 4 days later asking me if I was available the following day for a specific time. Needless to say I rearranged my schedule to get that elusive appointment and the rest is history...

People can cancel for a number of reasons (failed or positive cycles often open up extra appointments) and also because once you are 'on the books' getting an appointment is much easier as you get priority for appointments.
What puzzled me in my situation was why you put yourself on a cancellation list but then not move heaven and earth to take the appointment when it comes up???

And yes Warren does do Saturday appointments - that man is tireless in his work ethic, taking appointments from 5am in the morning until after 4 in the afternoon.
We had an instance where I had a massive bleed overnight after getting our BFP. We rang him at 5am and he got us to come straight in and slotted us in to deal with our issue despite having a very full workload already...

That is really great to hear...I must admit after getting the bad news about our donor embryos and then the bad news about not being able to get an appt until March I was devastated and sat and had a big cry. Just when you toughen yourself up and prepare for the battle...there is another blow. But hearing that earlier appts aren't the exception has made me feel a little better. THANKS!!!

Have done one stim cycle with Monash & have one frozen embie, am doing another cycle november & hopefully we might get another.. Then will transfer early next year. Am also consulting Dr M in Syd for immune issues... If we don't get a BFP early next year then I'm thinking it'll be time to try something else before I get any older (am 41 in Dec), and from what I've read Wazza would be the best option. But I'm not sure how it would work if ur interstate? Is it even possible?

Also I've read previous posts about him dropping back his hours, so when girls in here are booking appt's are they actually with him? Or with the female doc that has been mentioned.. Or Is it just luck of draw whether a new patient actually gets to see him specifically??

Also does he do phone consults like Dr M does?
I know of a friend who has seen him while living in another state.
Basically Warren does the initial consult and works out what testing needs to be done. Anything that can be reliably done in the patient's home state is done there (eg BT monitoring, scans, ). These results all get sent back to him to review. He then works with them to plan any further treatment/appointments or procedures that he needs to do. In my friends case - she would fly over in the morning, have her appointment/procedure and fly home the same day. Having been a patient with him for a few years I know he regularly works with interstate patients.
He is dropping his hours back next year to three days per week but if you make an appointment with him - you will definitely see him.
I'm not aware of him doing phone consults as Warren is very 'old school'. He is the type of guy who likes to shake your hand and look you in the eye.. I have on one occasion even received a personal handwritten note from him after a failed cycle. (And a big old bear hug when we got our longed for BFP!)
While his practise is modern and treatment schedules/practises current, warren himself is a 'bare basics' type of guy... (You will understand what I mean by this if you saw his consult office - it's the tiniest, ramshackled room in his practise - but it is here he works his magic!)

@Charlie74 Yep....I second everything @Blinky76 said. All true right down to the handwritten notes. That's the kind of person/FS he is😊

He often does what is called "Remote Cycling" with his patients. It's as Blinky's explained with patients flying in for EPU & either staying on until transfer or coming back for transfer depending on their circumstances😊

    Hi All,

I was just wondering if you might be able to help. I have been looking on the site and I just can't find the info on which type of fish oil 1000 mgs capsule that people use.

Wazza has given this as his supplement plan and I live remote so I am looking at costs etc to have things sent but just wanted to check which ones ppl used.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks soooooo much

    Tegs

Has anyone suffered with thin lining issues? I had a hysteroscopy done today and Warren is concerned about my lining which has been a concern for me in past cycles, he is going to keep a close eye on this throughout my cycle but wondering if there is anything he can do to improve things???
