Hi , anyone had success with IVF with PGD? My DH's sperm chromosome studies didn't come back the best so Wazza thinks that's our best bet. Just wondering about the process? Thanks 😊

They have really tightened the rules on transfer numbers. Because of my age he put in 2 but even back in 2011 he wanted to put the third in but wasn't allowed to. Seeing I got lucky with twins I was relieved that he didn't put the third as I would have struggled with triplets

Hi has anyone done IVF with PGD (CGH)? Just wondering whether they had to send to Melbourne for the CGH testing? Thanks

I haven't had it done - it was suggested to us though if we had decided to do one last round with our own eggs. At the time (2013) it was sent to Melbourne to be done.
A friend did it with their cycle around the same time and it was definitely sent to Melbourne.

Hello ladies, I've just joined and read your posts about the great work that Dr DeAmbrosis does. So after a natural pregnancy in Feb 14 that ended in early m/c and 8 failed ivf cycles with 2 different qfg specialists, I'm kicking myself that I didn't hear about him a year ago when we started this journey. I have just made an appt with Warren, however I can't get in until March 2016. They did say that if there is a cancellation I may get in earlier, but if he's so great why would anyone cancel? Did any of you get an earlier appt after an initial long wait?

Yes I got a cancellation appointment when I first started, so if I were you I would call them every now and again to see if they have anything as they do tend to pop up now and again. He is wonderful! 😊

I called about 3 weeks ago, and the earliest appt was Feb 16, I was devastated... but they put me on their cancellation list (I told them I don't need much notice) and a week later they called and said there has been a cancellation, can I be there in an hour. I dropped everything that morning and went to this appt. I am currently on my first cycle with him.. and like this blog.. he is fantastic.. I have egg transfer tomorrow morning but my eggs aren't looking great. Good Luck.. I think you will get an earlier appt if you can drop everything on the day they call you !

LOL sorry but I don't know how to reply an put your names in...another sign of my age I guess. Thank you both for your replies though, gives me a bit of a boost as nothing else seems to be going right. I did tell them I could be there at very short notice. Fingers crossed!

He does Sat transfers...wow both my other FS did my transfers earlier than our planned 5day transfers as they fell on a Saturday. I actually had an FET on Monday with my last frozen embryo to survive (my sister also did an EPU to donate for us, and that has pretty much failed). Warren saw us looking worried and said to tell our Dr 'get us pregnant or I'll nail your balls to the chair'....hehe I wish I'd asked him then and there if he'd see us next cycle if we didn't get pregnant. LOL maybe you can put in a good word for us tomorrow . Good luck to you for tomorrow, it certainly is a rollercoaster!

Default Dr Warren De Ambrosis - Wazza appreciation thread

    Hi Gen,
Yes when I first made an appointment with Wazza in 2013 I made the appointment in early May for a November booking.
They offered to put me on the cancellation list but did warn me that I wouldn't be given much notice and that there was a significant waiting list ahead of me (over 35 people). I received a phone call just 4 days later asking me if I was available the following day for a specific time. Needless to say I rearranged my schedule to get that elusive appointment and the rest is history...

People can cancel for a number of reasons (failed or positive cycles often open up extra appointments) and also because once you are 'on the books' getting an appointment is much easier as you get priority for appointments.
What puzzled me in my situation was why you put yourself on a cancellation list but then not move heaven and earth to take the appointment when it comes up???

And yes Warren does do Saturday appointments - that man is tireless in his work ethic, taking appointments from 5am in the morning until after 4 in the afternoon.
We had an instance where I had a massive bleed overnight after getting our BFP. We rang him at 5am and he got us to come straight in and slotted us in to deal with our issue despite having a very full workload already...
