I am not that knowlegable hun, only had one cycle before so there are plenty of ladies that know more than me. I can't even remember what drugs perform what task in the cycle!! Actually....I did know at the time, I think it might be my minds way of blocking all the trauma of IVF out IYKWIM??

If it were me, I would simply call up Wazza's office and ask them how to transfer. They would probably make an apointment first which might be 6 weeks or so away (maybe more cos he is going on holidays??) and then grab their fax number and tell them you will get your old FS office to fax over your file. Once you have that appointment in place THEN call up old FS and tell them you are transfering and give them the fax number to send a copy of the file. I don't think they would normally just hand it to you. Then just make sure you visit your GP between now and your first Wazza appt to get your referals. I think that is all your would need to do?

Wazza does both 5 and 3 day transfer. Depends on your situation. Mine was a day 3. Some ladies have day 5. It's his flexibility that I like.

    He is in control
With my file transfer I wrote my old fs a letter thanking him for his assistance in other cycles and explained that we were wishing to seek a second opinion and please send copies of my file to wazza.
That way when I turned up to wazza he had all the info already. He actually gave me more info on my failed cycle than old fs.
My advice would be to be make appt with wazza asap as it may take a while than that gives you a chance to organise the other stuff
I just read your story about your journey so far in one of the other threads and you have been doing it tough. One of the main reasons I switched fs was because I lost faith and confidence in the doctor after my second cycle and believed that I should never have even went to transfer. Changing for me has really made a difference to my mental approach to the whole ivf journey and although I am still waiting to see if this cycle has worked it was probably the one of the best decisions I have made. We are talking a large commitment financially and you have to trust your doctor.

Wazza is away 24/6 till 4/8. I doubt you'll get in before then as a new patient but it pays to be on "standby cancellation list", so if some ladies cancel they'll ring you to see if you can take the place.

Frosty, I am so glad I have given you a little bit of hope. Sometimes it's really what we need when it feels like we are constantly banging our heads up against a brick wall!

I must admit to being a bit of a stalker of the Brisbane group, hoping so very much that you will get your babies.

Sweet ladies...Thank you all for even taking the time to read my post.

Lilly...Yes, everyone thinks he is great and flexible. I am already falling in love with his great FS. Thanks a lot.

LineyB73...Thank you for your kind words. I will actually be send a letter just like you did. Thanks once again.

Frostymum...What more can I say but to thank you for all the info. I am actually happy with an August appointment as this will give me more time to save up. I learnt I will be out of pocket for about $10,000 to $12,000 for visa issues and I'm only just approaching this amount withn our savings. DH and I are not finding this funny at all. That is why we want to give the first cycle our best shot. If it doesn't work on the first go, we will have to wait until we have a Permanent Resident Visa before doing more cycles as we simply can't afford 2 cycles without some kind of rebate.

Thank you all. I will keep you posted as I travel.

Thanks Frosty. I have now booked an appointment to see him when he returns from holidays in August.

Next step is to send a letter to my FS asking him to trasfer my file. Will keep you posted.

I too am a Wazza girl

After a few months of unsuccessfully TTC (actually I didn't even get to ovulate) with a OB/GYN in our home town a friend of mine recommended WDA to me. Our first meeting was hilarious. Apparently my DH has nice nuts and I have a cavity to tell our friends about at parties (but I am sure he says that to all the girls )

Initially we decided to try IUI but after our results came back Wazza said IVF was our best chance but he left the decision up to us. Both DH and I trusted him so much that we went with the IVF option.

After EPU I woke up with 15 written all over my feet and shins. I thought it was so cool that I left it on for a day or two.

I also got to sing the open wide song, say the magic words and chant as we walked along the corridor of fertility.

I found out yesterday that I had a BFP from our very first cycle with Wazza. It is only early days so I am telling my little embie to stay sticky.

I feel so blessed to have met such a wonderful FS. I would recommend Wazza to anyone who is having trouble TTC. He explains everything in a way you can understand and he also includes your partner so they feel part of the whole process (which they are of course).

Default Thank you ... I found this thread because only today I was ....

I was only thinking of contacting his office because I have a LOT to be grateful to Warren for and when I Googled it, I came across this thread and needed to reply to it.

My son is now 8 years old and is in the TOP 1% of Queensland Grade 3 that sat for the ICAS Exams Science and English and is in the TOP 3% for Maths. If it wasn't my dear ... dear Warren ... he maybe might not have been here.

It started 10 years ago when I fell pregnant and started miscarrying at 6 weeks over the weekend. I went to my local GP who just told to rest up. On Monday they deemed that I had miscarried and that did I know a Gyno. I suggested a person that had been recommended to me, rang their office from the car park of the Doctors surgery after getting the referral and he was unable to see me. I then walked back in to the surgery and asked for Warren's number. The girls said "Oh you won't get in to see him, he is too popular". I said I would take the number and no harm in trying.

His girls were unbelievable. Where are you now, how long will it take to get in here. So understanding and so compassionate toward a person that one minute is sooooo excited about being pregnant and then the next finding out that it had ended as suddenly as it started.

So, I tried again, and fell pregnant AGAIN, and 6 weeks comes around and low and behold, I started losing this one as well. Warren hospitalised me, but 2 days in hospital and I lost my little boy.

2 years of every month wondering and waiting, Warren suggested because of my age to try IVF. So we started the hormone treatment. I ended up with cysts on my ovaries. BUGGER! Warren was away and a Doctor that was supposedly trying to replace him was sitting in his place. What a cold fish he was. Just said, you have to go on the Pill for 3 months. Well that is not something you want to hear when you are trying to get pregnant.

3 Months down the track, it seemed like the cysts were still there. So Warren gave me options. The best thing I liked about him was that he treated me like a person and there was no messing about, but also explained things in great detail when you needed it, and if you didn't then that was OK too.

So I said that pretend I was his wife, what would he tell his wife to do. He suggested we remove the cysts even though they might only be empty shells and then we would have a clean slate.

So that is what we did. Back on the hormones ... all ready for the cycle and ONLY 1 follicle produced. I was devastated. He said no worries, we won't waste it, we will do an AIH but the percentage rate of you getting pregnant is low but at least we haven't wasted it. 10 days later, I could not believe my luck, the test was POSITIVE. That 1 follicle actually was fertilised. He was over the moon too.

6 weeks on and I started miscarrying AGAIN. This time, we did the progeserone, and valium, and I was laid up till week 12. I still had showings and it wasn't an easy pregnancy with all the stress. But week 40 .... yes you read that right .... Warren had glued it with Super Glue that my son did not want to come out when he was supposed to. Due 8th December .... Born 20th December with an induction and then emergency cessarean.

After my son was born, I was able to conceive many times, but I have now miscarried into the double figures ... and each time, I had my couple of days of crying and then I would brush myself off and ready for the next cycle.

My daughter was born 3 years after using just fertility drugs and AIH. They are bright children ... but wonder if they TRULY would have been here without the help of Warren ... his WONDERFUL girls .... and probably my tenacity.

So thank you for starting this thread and hope those who are reading this get something out of it.
