How is everyone going with their cycles with Wazza?

He helped me achieve 2 pregnancies (currently pregnant with my second). Well worth the wait!

    Good luck Ladydee

    Thanks Ladies

It was a crazy rush seeing if my boss could cover me so I could leave work early yesterday. I had to call my GP's office to fax my referral to Wazza's office as my appointment wasn't supposed to be until July 2015 so I hadn't bothered to do too much about it! I then had to fax my 'Consent to release' my file to my current FC rooms and track down my DH across town to sign his part. Then after a super-quick stop home to jump in the shower and umm..."freshen and tidy-up" down- stairs , I then rushed like mad through pre-G20 traffic to get to his rooms in Brisbane which is an hour from where I live! Probably the first time I haven't got ridiculously lost in Brisbane City too.....Lady Luck was on my side all day (about b@@dy time!) and it all worked out great Wow, what a massive weight off my shoulders!!! I was there for about 2 solid hours and we covered absolutely everything and considered every possible reason for all of my miscarriages. He ordered a heap more tests and it was SUCH a weight off to feel like here was someone who was just as keen, if not more, to step back and look at the big picture and get to the bottom of my infertility & miscarriage problems. He had another FS/Ob sitting next to him so the both of them were throwing back and forth ideas and suggestions the whole time too......fan-bl00dy-tastic!

As I've already started this cycle, Wazza recommended sticking it out with my current FS but he looked over my drug plan and has tweaked a few (well a lot of) things So I'm doing a Wazza-boosted medicated FET cycle

    Hi Everyone,
I'm new here but have enjoyed reading what everyone has had to say about Warren. Mr second opinion who I am considering seeing.

I am 39 and have been with another FS at QFG who is really lovely, but recently I had my 4th failed cycle of full IVF and am feeling so low :-( My latest transfer was done by Warren as my dr was away. He is crazy lol but was great and considering the transfer didn't go smoothly handled it very well.

While I have a lot of respect for my Dr who is lovely I am thinking it might be time for a second opinion so I have made an appointment with Warren - first available is June 2015 but I am also on the cancellation list. I am concerned about stepping on my doctors toes but I feel like I maybe need fresh eyes on my case and am wondering if Warren might have a different approach, although I have already been stimulating at the highest dose FSH. Last EPU got 4 and 2 were transferred back. Was so devastated as one was really good quality embie. I am single and using a donor too and this was the last vial for my donor so I am back to square one there too having to pick a new one.
(There is a whole other story there too with a major error re my donor selection by the QFG donor team but won't get into that now. Got sorted but wow! Was awful.)

I have also been seeing a fertility naturopath for many months who is very good called Jason Jackson who has already had me on lots of the natural stuff that Warren incorporates into his cycles as well as doing acupuncture. I feel like I am getting conflicting advice though as he thinks the high dose drugs are too much and has seen many people get better results from a more scaled back approach.
I am just feeing very confused and torn about where to from here. I have never done an IUI so the plan with my current dr is to have my tubes checked and try an IUI which I might do in the mean time until I can see Warren.

I am also getting the "your a poor responder it's time to use donor eggs" speech from my current doc but I am not ready yet to give up on my own eggs as it's not like I am stimulating and getting none.
Stressed, confused and so sad right now and really struggling. Such a hard journey.

Would be glad to hear your advice/thoughts.

    Hi Ladydee,

Sounds like a huge few days for you. I hope all goes well with the current cycle.
Good to hear you had such a positive experience seeing Warren and he spent the necessary time with you.
Just wondering if I could ask in terms of cycle protocol what he is doing differently or has added to the mix for you as I am already stimulating at the highest FSH and doing all the natural supplements he uses already. Did he say what the benefit is of adding in steroids, or suggest this or anything else for you?

    Thanks
    Mel.

@Melbutterly:Hello Luv...Just wanted to let you know that my previous FS is with QFG as well (not Scott S.) I did my first 3 Cycles with him before I transferred over to Wazza.

I really liked my previous FS too. He's a wonderful, caring man whom I respect (@ Wazza speaks well of also) but the problem I had with him was that I found him to be too conservative in his approach. When I bought new ideas to the table in terms of trying new drugs to stim with or trying supplements or HGH etc I was flatly refused. He also didn't want to try any different protocols with me either so I decided to go elsewhere which turned out to be Wazza after I researched who the best FS would be to help DP @ I.

I also felt like I was being disloyal to my previous FS at the time by going to see Wazza @ was genuinely upset at the thought of offending him. But one of the Admin girls who I'd built a great rapport with assured me (when I asked her to fax over my file to Wazza's rooms) that he wouldn't be upset @ that he @ most other FS understand that people want to go @ get second opinions @ that it's a pretty common occurence @ that it works both ways in that some patients go elsewhere for a second opinion @ some come to him seeking a second opinion which made me feel better at the time. Mind you I was going to Wazza regardless. At the end of the day it was about finding the best FS I could who specialised in treating our specific issues (my age mainly+MFI) so DP @ I could give ourselves the best shot we could at getting a BFP.

Regarding your Naturopath...with all due respect to him..he's not a FS so I would disregard his opinion although granted some women do respond better to lower doses when stimming but some respond better to higher. It depends on the woman. It's not a "one size fits all" thing. When you see Wazza talk to him about it and then make your mind up😊

I hope I've been of some help @ wish you all the best Luv with your next Cycle regardless of who you do it with😊

    Hi BlondieinBrisvegas,

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my post. This forum is great. I really appreciate the advice and find it helpful to talk to others who have been there and really get it.

I have been quite stressed about it all and still processing this last failed cycle so now am working on building up the strength to go again. Feeling low but no where near ready to give up!! I have my paperwork sorted for Warren and am getting a new referral on Monday. You hit the nail on the head with what you said about feeling disloyal as I really do like and respect my dr but at the end of the day I need to know I have left no stone unturned and that means seeing if there is anything Warren can do to help me to get my baby in my arms.

    Thanks again.
    Mel

PS. I meant to call myself Melbutterfly but it won't let me change it so Melbutterly it is - lol
