I just wanted to say hello to everyone!
I've never written on here, but have got many a piece of advice from all the lovely ladies.
Just wanted to share my Dr Wazza story, because it is a nice one
If you believe it, Dr Wazza actually delivered ME! As in, he was Mum's OB. So I grew up hearing all about this lovely and hilarious doctor from my Mum.
Fast forward to my early twenties, and my then-fiance (now husband) was diagnosed with a germ cell tumour at 22, which meant a year of crazy levels of chemo and several huge operations. So we faced some pretty intense home truths early on about how we could possibly start a family.
After initially getting appointments with Monash, we decided to change to QFG and I was so excited to see Dr Wazza's name on their specialists lists.
He was amazing, very open and honest but at the same time he really sympathised. No problem was too big or small - considering I would sometimes go see him at 5.30am! Of course, the road is tough, but he and his team were shining lights through it all. Totally put DH at ease too.
The result? Twins on the first round. I will never forget his face when he told us at six weeks what was going on. It was awesome. My pregnancy was not easy, but he referred me to the best OB I could possibly have had at that stage - a very relaxed doctor (now retired, unfortunately) - Neil Shilton - who calmed me down for the next few months.
Healthy boy/girl twins were born at 33+5, albeit a little small, but wonderful all the same.
Now - they just celebrated their 4th birthday and are wonderful humans.
We owe it all to Dr Wazza and Dr Shilton!! Best of luck to everyone
