    Morning All!

Digby....so funny about your DH! you try telling him to go through the nausea and the pushing!

Winzy......for your last week of work! That's nice of your work for the flowers! Glad the birthing and labour class was good for you! makes it all that more real, hey!

Waiting....how's the homework going? hope the weather clears up for a walk today, if not, i'll get stuck into some of the scones i'm going to ask mum to make us today!

Kiwi....hows Sam going with his ear infection? is it clearing up? Hope P gets through the flights ok! Yay for your trip in a few days!

MA...i saw the pics of new little charlie! how cute!! . Hope life as a mum of 2 is going well!

LM.....hope the twinnies are still going well and that you'll be home soon! hope max is well and being a good big brother!

    Hi to everyone else!

Regarding the baby massages and mums groups - All i had to do was ring up the local CYH office and put my name down for a mums group - well that was cutting a long story short anyway. Modbury and Salisbury aren't running them at moment so i finally got into one at enfield (digby you may have the same problem). Charlie was 8 weeks old then and they told me they didn't start them til they were 12 weeks old. then a few days later i got a call telling me i got into a group and when i went all the bubbies were the same age! go figure! . So you meet at the CYH office with your mums group and a CYH nurse for 5 weeks and over that 5 weeks the nurse takes you through a variety of things with 'getting to know your baby'. One of those things is baby massage, so she taught us how to massage baby properly (well i guess there's no right and wrong way anyway). unfortunately i couldn't learn it as i had charlie asleep in my arms at the time so i just watched. however, i got a brief idea and have massaged charlie just a nice simple way. he gets a massage after his bath every night. So, yeah, that's all you will need to do. It's all free. and of course our mums group still meets weekly and they're fabulous!
I do have the blue book. it's about the size of A5 but it is quite thick so can make the nappy bag a bit heavier with everything else in it so i tend not to take it with me everywhere, only to specific appts for charlie.

So i know when AF comes too! i get into a real cleaning frenzy, get that much more narkier, get in the mood for 'breaking the drought' (go figure!) and i feel like cooking/baking - which on a normal day i can't be bothered with!

Anyway, hope you all have a nice day and are having a nice weekend!

Thanks for that random piece of information (Kidding!!). Man I get MEGA grumpy (and I know it!) usually dont get the cleaning or cooking frenzy though! sometimes cleaning but usually not till afterwards, must be my "purification process" or someting

Digby - aaahhh hubbies and alcohol, gotta love when they mix. I think my DH is still recovering from dealing with preggo me then newborn A, even WITH alcohol he doesnt have any interest in next bubs yet!!!! Ahh well we cant TTC yet anyway, not till I finish uni at least so I guess it will just make me more patient.....

How strange is the weather??!! Its sunny and blue sky on one side of our house yet the other direction is all black clouds and now its raining. A and I are out playing in our rumpus room so DH can sleep, got a nice wood fire going out here, just need some marshmallows and hot chocolate...

Oh, and Ive decided its time for a new ticker... the end is in sight The date Ive put is the last day of classes, fingers crossed theres no assignment due after that.... knowing my luck there will be though!!

So we are all in McDonalds this morning. I'm sitting with C waiting for DH and H to come back with food. Next to me is an older couple with young child. She says look at the baby, how old blah blah! HE then asks was the birth ok \ any complications ???? Umm excuse me?? I say it was fine. THEN he asks was it a natural deivery or c-sect !!!!! Ummm WTF???? I said it really doesn't matter. What is wrong with people - unbelievable!!!

The blue book is good - issue is the scale for weight isn't good for first few weeks but they are changing that. The home visit nurse gave me an updated one to slot in so all good!

Been meaning to say had a lovely moment when C was 10 days old. DH, H and us went to my nephews school fair. My mum, sister, nephew and grandma were there. As we left H was on DH's sholders and I had C in the baby bjorn and I had a tear in my eye thinking here I am with my completed family, given in 2010 I had thoughts it might not happen. Just wanted to share that!

OMG MA geez some people astound me??!! How do they feel it is any of their business to ask whether the delivery is natural or by c-section to someone they dont even know??!!! Man Id never DREAM of doing that to anyone!!!! Awesome though about your special moment, it made me all gooey. I cant wait to feel my family is complete someday. Much as A is my life, I know in my heart I have room for more

Welcome home LM, Ned and Annabelle

Kiwi - hope you get good news at the appt for S today. I hope everything goes well with your flights and trip back to NZ

I cant remember if I said it on here or not (I think I did) but my niece is nearly 3 and recently had her 2nd lot of surgery on her hip as it keeps dislocating so she cant walk. She is having her cast off today and heading back in to see if she needs a new one or will be having surgery ready to put walking braces on. Poor little monkey. Its making it so much harder that my sister isnt coping at all and is just about having a nervous breakdown, and she and my dad are at complete loggerheads to the point where dad cant even see his grandkids at the moment - this is breaking his heart knowing her daughter is having surgery possibly today and he cant even make contact to wish her luck or see how she is doing. My family is internally combusting, its gotten quite bad Sorry for the me post just needed to blah. Just hoping for good news today.

Welcome home Ned and Annabelle and hope you all get some sleep, LM, B and M!!

Waiting - so sorry to hear about your family issues. I understand the tension it causes. A couple of years ago we had issues with my brother and his girlfriend, and it all got very nasty. We were estranged from my brother and from my niece and nephew. Luckily for us, my brother got out of the relationship and we are able to have a relationship with the kids now, and are busy building back the relationship my brother and the rest of the family had. We have a really close family, and I NEVER thought this kind of thing could have happened to us, so my heart goes out to you, because I know the turmoil it causes in your heart. You just want to shake someone by the shoulders and say "wake up - this stuff doesn't matter - mend your family ties - that DOES matter". It's the whole don't sweat the small stuff and agreeing to disagree sometimes. I hope you get some resolution soon. It seems this has been going on for a while, and unfortunately may get worse before getting better. It's hard for you being slightly removed, seeing the bigger picture and not being able to get heard. Know we are always here for you to vent! I hope your niece's appointment goes well and I hope she doesn't need surgery.
