Hi to all those i've missed! thinking of you and hoping you're well!

So yes we've had a terrible few weeks! Grandma (mums mum) going last Saturday night (14th) just after midnight. mum and I were with her at the time so she wasn't alone and neither was mum. watching her pass is something i'll never forget. We then went to the viewing the night before the funeral and I wasn't affected by that at all.....in fact i got to see her looking the best i've seen her in a long time. she looked really really nice and just peaceful. The night before her funeral tho little C got tonisilitis and was up screaming all night and we got 1 hour sleep in total. just meant that DH had to miss out on the funeral and stay home with C all day and poor C cried all day. I have such awesome friends tho who took DH some dinner that night while i had dinner out with my family after the funeral. The funeral (burial) was finished off with my cousin playing the piano accordian and singing and italian song (nanna used to love being around them with the piano accordian and singing). was an awesome touch to the day!
During last week we were told my uncle had only days to live (dads brother). He had health issues all throughout life but towards the end he copped cancerous tumor on his bladder which took him. So while thinking about one funeral (grandmas) we were watching another family member go. He went 7am sunday morning and his funeral will be this friday. so 2 deaths/funerals within a week of each other has been a bit much but they're now in peace.
So after all this is over DH and I and C are heading away for 4 nights to my grandparents (well now shared between my father and his remaining siblings) holiday house just outside ardrossan. no-one was allowed to use it while my dads mum was still alive (she went last year) but now she's gone, it's been cleaned up and made ready to use again. so no-one was allowed to use it for 9 years between my grandpas and grandmas deaths! now it's ready for use again so we will be making use of it to get away! I wonder if C will get the hint of 'holiday' and sleep in til at least 8am!

Anyway, wow, what an essay! thanks for reading! Hope you're all well!
Shy...again, thinking of you! i know too well how sad family losses are. hugs hugs hugs hugs!

Shy - hope you're doing ok. Such a difficult time for you xxx

Thanks for for the thought Kiwi and Lisa. Yep, GD is back and have my appt on Saturday morning. Have to dig out my BGL monitor.
England and Croatia was great. Spencer struggling a little with jet lag this way home, but on the way there he was amazing. He did really well on the planes, and adapted so well to different hotels and places to sleep. We managed to organise a porta cot in every spot, so didn't need to lug one around which was a massive bonus. Spencer had an absolute ball with his Baba and Dida in Croatia. They haven't seen him for 5 months, but he remembered them and took very little time to warm up to them again. They will be back in Adelaide in 4 weeks time anyway, so that will be good for him.
DH and I had our first 24 hours without Spencer. He stayed with MIL and FIL. We spent the day out on a boat with some friends and then dinner that night. Of course - still crashed about 11pm or so because we are pathetic now!!!!

I did pretty well on the plane. Noone batted an eyelid on my trip over to Europe, but on the way back I had to sign waiver of liability forms from the aircraft. Guess I must have popped right out and looked quite big. I must say I did retain quite a bit of fluid over there. My cankles too 2 weeks to go down. On my way back I had a foot massage in KL to help - and my ankles are back. yay!

As for the hunger...(.)(.) feeding sure does make you hungry!! Any tips guys on what to eat that's filling but not gonna stack on more kilos?

Sorry in advance its a me post.......

REEEEEAAALLLYY confused not sure what to do so Id thought Id pick your lovely brains and see what you guys all think....

As you already know I am doing my final prac and finish uni in 5 weeks time (yay!!) jobs for teaching are out at the moment (govt jobs in Adelaide to go online from Fri). I initially decided to do this prac in the country to suss out the possibility of potential work and if I think DH and I would be happy here.

After the preparation time down here in S/East it appeared there wasnt any work. So we decided to put that idea to rest for a couple of years and stay in Adelaide until we have finished having kids, then relocate. So I was planning on applying for jobs in adelaide for next year, but even then Im realy concerned about getting preggas in my 1st year at a schools but thats what I (and DH) feel we need to do (and then I will be eligible for maternity leave cos financially we probably need it).

THEN. Today two of my mentor teachers have commented how they are trying to 'fit me in' for next year... and at the end of the day the school principal approached me sussing me out for working at the school next year.

SO Im having a minor freak out.!!!!

This is originally what we had wanted. But last week we had decided to postpone and shifted focus back to Adelaide and even possibly looking at getting UTD asap without taking a contract for work next year.... and I was happy with that decision even though financially it will be really tough!!!!

So now I feel a major spanner has been thrown in the works. Im worried they will offer me a job for 2012 and I will have to decline. That or I will accept it but then they have to get another person in when I need maternity leave which isnt easy for country schools..... I was happy with the decision to stay in Adelaide but at the same time dont want to miss out on an opportunity.... yet on the flip side am concerned about moving away then not having family support while having another baby and A is so young... it would be better when she is school age.

OMG there's no clear cut answer... I know I cant do anything until I get a formal off (if I do) but I really dont want them to go making arrangements and then I decline and stuff it all up and the principal is going on leave for 5 weeks at the end of this week......

    Yikes.

Sorry that all probably makes noooo sense but I needed to get it out of my head. What do you guys think? What would you do if you were in this position? Fellow teacher Winzy???!!!!!!!!!

Waiting.....reading between the lines it looks like your heart is with a new baby with your family here to support you. I think there's your answer. I know you always want to take the opportunities when they come but there will be plenty more with probably more benefits. Sounds like the best choice for the time being is to be where your heart is - new bub and family. I actually think there would always be country opportunities that you can take up in the future. More people would prefer city which leaves more spots in the country so when you're ready to work for the longer term then maybe that's the better time for you to go? Does that make sense.
Or maybe I'm just being selfish cos I don't want you to go! Haha. But I do mean what I say above.

Wh: oo rough call... I think lady snit is right go with yr heart. There will always more country positions. But if u really DO want to work next year I would still take the job - good to get some experience straight after your degree and get known at the school. Then if u get pregnant that's great they will find someone else - they have 5 or so months to find someone. They wouldn't employ a woman of childbearing age if they didnt think it was a possibility. Heaps of my friends have worked for a yr or half a year got pregnant and went out on mat leave - u cant put yr life on hold. I say look after yourself - its not being selfish schools find people to replace others. But that's only if u want to work next year! If u dont want to don't! I have another mate who got preggo straight after her degree n went on mat leave had kid went back to work for 3 terms n now she's pregnant again. School loves her and wants her back after bubs 2 too I think if the school likes u they will have u back after the bubs too... Do what u want I say follow your heart

Digby: yep I think that's the date is 12 ok? Too right about the hunger! And it's hard to keep going at the gym I run out of energy. I have only been going once or twice a week been so busy n it's windy here for walking too. It'll be black maternity bathers n boardies for me this yr no skimpy bikinis!

Waiting - is it possible to have a chat with some of the teachers or the principal?? I assume if they offer you a contract then it is a permanent position. Is there a possibility you could offer your services as a casual, and that way you informing them of getting preggers would not leave you feeling so guilty?? Realistically they could possibly be expecting you to take mat leave, like Winzy said. You could then relocate back to Adelaide and still have had some country experience up your sleeve, and perhaps the opportunity to go back when things settle down for you. Hope that made sense?? I'm a bit tired writing this!!

Otherwise let them know you would be interested to come back in a few years, but your focus has shifted to family right now and think the best place for you with support is in Adelaide?? You could keep in touch and they would not forget you and hopefully would be able to contact you when positions become available.
