I'm moving towns and I am in the process of of transferring. My current fs admin chickey just gave me a copy of my file and my new fs just got me to get my new fs to fill in a form for him.
Sent from my iPhone using Bub Hub
I did this the other week, I just needed to put it in writing to my old FS in an email that i wanted my file to be sent to my new FS, and had to show them a copy of my drivers licence so they knew it was me, i just emailed it and it was done in 10 min!
Its all your medical information, your medical file. They have to send it on to your new FS if you request it. Should be easy enough to have done, im sure they do it all the time. I wouldn't leave it to the last minute though, might take a week or so for them to get around to it.
Just catching up on all the posts in the last day or so...
Chook: Hang in there, keep optimistic and just see where this cycle takes you. Maybe try not to make any really big decisions while you are feeling so flat and just let us know if we can do anything.
Welcome to Mam!
Ladies, can I please as your opinion on something?
I am kind of working with 2 x FS at the moment, the old one and the new one. The old one is part of one of the big, private IVF centres and is quite expensive. The new one is at Westmead which are a lot more affordable as they are not-for-profit.
The new one is great and we are going back to see him on Monday but at this stage he hasn't prescribed anything for me. We are just getting the results of all of our tests/scans etc. The plan with him is to go on to IVF early in 2012.
I am still hanging with the old FS for a little longer, just to get me through Chrissy and up until I start IVF. She had prescribed me Clomid back in October but then I never heard back - no follow up appointment suggested, and never asked for any monitoring bloods, scans or anything. When I got a Day-21 blood done last cycle the nurse called me and said "why did you get a random Blood Test sent to us?" - I explained it was Day-21 etc and that I wanted some feedback on my cycle. They said: "you really need to be monitored closely on a Clomid cycle so we can't give you any feedback. Maybe next month you should get more bloods and we can monitor you."
I was a bit confused as I thought we (as in the clinic/FS & I) were working together on a cycle of Clomid and I presumed they would give me the same level of monitoring and feedback as anyone else... So I agreed to have bloods done this cycle to see how my body responds to the meds.
Then, yesterday I get a bill in the mail for $500 for the forthcoming Clomid cycle monitoring. They won't send me the blood requests until I pay the $500 which then pays for them to receive pathology results and give me feedback.
What do you think? Is that fair enough or is that a bit rude? I mean, I know what my levels should be so if I could get pathology results sent to myself, I could interpret them...
I am thinking I will tell the new FS about this on Monday and ask him if I can get blood results sent to his office for feedback - presuming there is no fee.
Am I over-reacting? Would love to hear your opinions.
Hope everyone is well
taralou - if i was you i would def change FS.
The FS im seeing here in Melbourne, does not charge me when i ring up and ask about my bt results, apart from when i go to see her at the clinic, then i only pay $100 and get some back from medicare too! My first consultation costed $180!
I also had ultrasounds done at the clinic for which i never paid!
I think it is quite normal to react the way you have.
I wish you more luck with the new FS
as for me - im on CD34, no signs of AF, and according to my FS i did not ovulate. However i was advised to take pg test on day 35, which is tomorrow. If this cycle fails for me, then i am on cycle number 3 and 100mg clomid . Bring it on
mam good luck with the SA, hope your DP has great results and you don't need the IUI. I will be monitored fairly closely by my FS, I take clomid days 5-9 (just 25mg to start with) then scans start on day 12 onwards until my follicles are ready to pop and then I will get the HCG trigger injection (Ovidrel??) so we can do IUI. Then I assume blood tests to make sure I have ovulated and he suggested potential progesterone support for my luteal phase as well. The works really!! How about you?
Wow taralou, thats crazy they want you to pay upfront. I got my bills from my first months cycle and it was just over $500, so the ball park is right, buts i think its rude they make you pay before!
I would definately be changing if I were you taralou ... it seems really unfair to pay upfront like that
