For one adult, a four and a six year old - mine is $400ish for three quarters and around $700ish for the winter quarter. Three bedroom brick home, out most days, no air-con, ceiling fans, tv on a little in the morning and most nights. I use an oil heater in three bedrooms during winter because it is a very cold house and I also use the clothes dryer far more than I should!

    Past Moderator - Thank you
    Last quarter was $520.....

5 bedroom, 2 bathroom standard rendered home, 2 years old.
2 adults, 1 toddler (will add I am 35 weeks pregnant, living in Cairns so I am STINKING HOT 24/7!!!!!)

Ceiling fans on every day in most rooms. Aircons on in our room & DD's room every night. She also has day sleeps with it on.

At this time of year the air cons in the lounge & kitchen/dining are on everyday, all day until I go to bed.

We pay $50 per week direct debit to Ergon so our bills arent so huge when we get them. This quarter we only needed to pay just over $200 as the rest was paid off..

When im using the air con so much this time of year we dont use the drier. That is my compromise with DH
Dry season we only use aircon at night so our bill is significantly less.

How much is your electricity bill per quarter? $350 pre-DD, $600 post-DD

House size? 3 Bedroom, 1 bathroom
How many people living in it? 3 - 2 adults, 1 bub
Aircon? Split system in lounge room almost every day. Box aircon in bedroom every night since September.
Are you home during day? Since DD was born, yes.
Tv usage ? From 6pm - 11pm all the time. Not much during the day.
    What state? North Queensland.

Looking forward to winter - unlike the southerners that's when we save money on electricity!

Wow, I really don't know where we're going wrong! Our biggest bill was the quarter before last, it was $760! .... I've just received our final bill from the house we just moved from, and it was $430 for 61 days.

    We lived in a-
    4 bedroom newish brick home
    2 bathroom
    2 adults & 3 kids
TV on and off all day (4 year old insists on it being on even when he's not watching it )
Pretty much someone home at all times
Aircon was used hardly ever at that house as it was warm in winter and cool in summer
    No ceiling fans
Dryer only a recent investment (purchased after that $760 bill, then we used it nearly every day for 3 months due to poor weather, yet the next bill was slightly LOWER )
QLD- but not in a hot sunny area of the state LOL

We've now moved to an older renovated home, but still old so will need lots of heating during winter as it gets below zero here in winter. Plus where we live it will drizzle with rain nearly every day so washing rarely gets hung out on the line. Dreading the upcoming bills over winter! We do have 2 fireplaces here but not keen to use them for safety reasons

DH just suggested that the fact I do at least 3 loads of washing a day might be a contributing factor?

Last one was $833! First full bill since moving into our new home. 4 bedrooms roughly 230sqm brick and colourbond with ducted reverse cycle aircon. Family of three, home all day with dd. Tv on for most of the day, no light left on in daytime, run second fridge and was running aircon from morning as o was under the impression it was more economical... Wrong! Solar with gas boosted water heating and gas cooktop. Going to turn off the 2nd fridge and aircon doesn't go on until after lunch. Trying to keep the Telly off too.
I nearly died when I got that bill
    We live in WA

I just got mine last week and it was $98. That was from Jan to March, first elec bill since moving in. One adult, three children, only thing on all day is the fridge. I turn other things off at the wall when not in use.

Wow that's impressive! I can only wish for a bill that low.
