Yup. The corpus luteum (Yellow body) produces progesterone (and a few other things, but mainly progesterone. If there is no pregnancy it turns into a corpus albicans (White body) which is basically just scar tissue iir. I think, inbetween those 2 stages it is called something different too - but only briefly while it's bleeding after it has ruptured and sent the egg flying. Most of the size of it before ov'n is watery stuff so when it pops it can propel the egg towards the fallopian tubes.

Bumblez Congrats!!! Must be so nice to get there! Cool name too

TLM *hugs* I'm not well atm either and it's horrid.

    for everyone!

afm I have seriously blocked sinuses, a raging headache and a horrid high temperature and am coughing up goop and sneezing *really* hard, none of which is helping my confidence at all

Don't panic Cat, I had this at 7 weeks too, go to the dr! They will give class a antibiotics which according to the pharmacist yesterday are a ok! Sounds very much like what i I have, it's not nice, but we are utd, doesn't mean modern medicine can't help out! The chemist may or may not recommend taking some pro biotics with it, they did when I was 7 weeks with this, but didn't this time, so who knows!

Good luck blackduck, hope something work out soon!
Go for it bk2b! Many get utd before they to the fs!

    Sorry about AF Elly

    Bk2b
    - If you've had a positive OPK I'd definitely go for it!

Cat - I can understand why you're stressed but try and think positive

TLM - You'll know when you're ready to tell work. Hide it for as long as you feel like it! Don't you officially only have to give them 4 weeks notice?

AFM - Well no more spotting or anything after yesterday's very light spotting. No period pain. 13DPO. Still a BFN though! Grrrrr!!!!

Grr for you FM, how frustrating. Hope something happens soon.
I have to go on leave 6 weeks before the due date, i think i have to tell them 10 weeks before, I guess it's cause I work for the government in a state school, so they can organize a replacement teacher. It works out that i can work right up to the end of third term, which is good for the kids, a new term with a new teacher. Also means no report cards for me! yippee! Small things hey!

TLM working in a school I'd tell them early just because they protect you by making kids with certain viruses etc stay home

AFM - AF is officially here. Shattered! I don't know how much more of this I can do girls

No such luck with the disease front, being a state school, there's very little you can force parents to do!
I am so sorry AF showed up, I can't remember, have you given the herbal, acupuncture route a go? There's always so much going on here, I can't remember what you've done. I wish there was a magic button for everyone, hope it is over quickly and the next cycle is the one, everything crossed for you hunni xoxo

TLM I've got PCOS and Endometriosis. I had ovarian drilling when I had my surgery to check the cysts and that's when they found the endo and removed it. I was so sure this cycle was going to be the one seen as though I'd been all cleaned out!

Futuremummy, when did you have your surgery? Having both PCOS and endo certainly is scary. I had mine in feb and have had 3 cycles since (just starting the 4th now), but no luck catching the egg! Gah! The fact that I have no patience for pretty much anything isn't helping me

Did they give you a timescale for when everything should be working again? I don't even know what to say, don't give up, that little cherub is waiting for you, i know it's gotta be there. And you too Elly, just amazing what you have been through girls, my heart aches for you xoxoxoxxo

I had my surgery in Feb too Elly and my next FS appointment is May 31st. I hope we both catch the egg soon! It sounds like we have similar situations!

Thanks hun, my FS said to "feel free to get pregnant before I see him again" so we had the go ahead to start TTC again straight away.

Ok the strangest thing has happened, that spotting from this morning has stopped completely! I was so sure it was AF but maybe it's just early pregnancy spotting? I am trying not to get my hopes up too much but I have no period pain which is making me wonder!!!
