    would you enter your child?
is this a violation of a childs right to a childhood?

No I would not ever ever ever enter y child into one of these and Yes, I DO think it can be a violation of their rights.
Especially when it comes to them waxing, tanning, make up, suggestive outfits and being 'forced' (or even encouraged) to prance around on stage. It's 'icky'.

Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression Dr Haim Ginott.

I would only enter my child if there was rules against spray tanning, hair extensions, make up, waxing etc. A pagent to show off natural beauty I have no problems with bur not the disgusting ones where parents force their kids to be Barbie dolls. I think my DD is at her absolute cutest in a nappy and singlet, I don't know why these parents feel their kids need so much help to look beautiful!

Not my cup of tea. Baby photo competitions I'd do...(Where you send in a piccie of your baby). But not pageants. Its just not right. IMO

    No.

She's worth more than the way she looks with a ton of make-up on, hair-pieces and false teeth.

We're also not stupid enough to spend thousands of dollars towards making her have cr*ppy body image and self esteem.

A contest where people compete based on their skills? Yes, I understand that. A contest where it's got little to do with anything other than how good-looking you are? How sad.

Not something I want my daughter participating in.

thats a big hell NO from me!!!

i do not believe these kids enjoy all the "pampering" like the parents think they do. there KIDSSSS, of course there going to chuck tantys when getting there hair pulled and pinned back tight, or the PAIN of waxing!!! or having there face looking fake like a porcelain doll.

it really disturbs me that parents are that competitive for there child to look the best that they have to put there kid through all this pain.

also, i think it makes a child very spoilt too, i saw one girl who knew she had everything. but she did not no what it was like to play outside and climb trees, because it was frowned upon for a pageant princess to do.

    ugh!! infuriates me.
