Oh thank goodness I found this thread! How is everyone going? I just wanted to introduce myself - I'm 27, have one DS who will be 7 months on Monday week. I gave a SS who is 8 in a couple of weeks.
I had a gastric band fitted in 2009. Recently had emergency revision surgery and had another put in because of a slippage. I just thought I'd offer a helping hand to anyone who has any questions about the procedure or the lifestyle changes afterward. I've been through it all. Twice! I was initially 134kg and 170cm. I'm now 80kg. Just trying to budge that last 10kg and ill be satisfied! Congratulations to you all for making such a big step in the right direction- you are bound to hear some negative comments about your choices eventually, but you know now it is not the easy way out!wishing you all the best of luck with your journey.

I've had surgery - 6 weeks ago. You know who I am Sassy!

Just onto normal food. Tried chicken for the first time last night with no issues! Yay!

Have lost just over 20kg so far including my pre-op diet.

I can't wait to be at goal so I can start TTC! Bring on Oct, 2013!

Has anyone been pregnant since their surgery?

If so how long after did you TTC and then get UTD?

And how long did people take to get to goal?

Hi, yep, I fell pregnant after my surgery. I had surgery at the start of 2008. Fell pregnant in Feb 2011.. Had a revision of my band when DS was 5 months as my band slipped and I was quite ill. I lost some after my immediate surgery, didn't have any taken out when I fell pregnant and lost majority when I was pregnant and after. Bub grew perfectly fine and my slippage happened in about march this year. Had the revision and no probs since but it was a different surgeon

I should add that I tried for years before I fell pregnant but it was the weight loss that did it!

To everyone out there... I have a question.
I have signed up to PHI with Medibank, Am I able to be covered for this after 2 months or do I have to wait 12 months as its a pre-existing condition ?
