    Default Any advice?

Hi all, well done on your weight loss!
I am having a band in the next 2-3 months and doing all the tests and stuff now. NOT looking forward to the month of the diet first up at all, but keen to start my new life!!!

So, Is there anything you wish you knew before bariatric surgery?
What things got you through it?
Id be lying if i said i wasn't scared out of my mind!
    Thanks!

Am seriously thinking surgery may be my last option, really would prefer not to have it though as it's not an easy option, but nothing else has worked for me in 15 years of trying.

Has anyone heard much about the intragastric balloon? Orbera is one of the brands. I was contemplating this as a less invasive option also a bit of a trial I guess and a kick start to weight loss. It's put in endoscopically (if that's a word).

    Any thoughts about this option?

Sorry everything I heard is that it is not so great. My surgeon tried it on himself he lost 4 kgs in 6 mths. He won't use them.

All I can say is do your research.

Thanks for the feedback. Might explain why there aren't many places that do the balloon.

    Good luck Borealis.

I'm sure it'll go smoothly, and you'll probably feel a little relieved to be away from your baby - I can't imagine going through surgery and then having to get up to a baby that same night. It'll be good to get some rest with only yourself to consider.

    How is going Borealis?

How did your LO go with being away from you and you from him?

What stage of post op are you up to now?
