    Wow!! That's so much out of pocket with monthly phi fees still. Much better than $17,000! My mum offered to pay for my phi for a month and surgery costs cause I'm not working atm but she thought it's about $2500 all up. I can't take her money anyways. I managed to get an appt in a public weightloss surgery clinic in melb. They have closed their surgery list cause it's so long. I have to go on optifast even though I've had the lapband before and put all my weight back on. *sigh*

    My DH just had the sleeve done a few weeks ago and his weight is falling from him . We have phi but we are NOT covered for hospital . He was told that he could claim the full cost on his super if he jumped through the right hoops in regards to forms so that what he did...

    That's great! Glad to hear it's working. I'm torn what to do. Will see if I can survive on optifast and get some weight loss kick started. Even 10kgs will make a bit of a difference for me. If it doesn't work then maybe I can find a surgeon and discuss getting it done through my super or phi.
