    Hi Sandy,

Welcome to the thread. I'm sorry to hear about your first cycle ending in miscarriage. Which specialist are you currently seeing?? I'm seeing Dr O'Dowd at Qld Fertility Group. I was seeing a specialist in Brisbane but was referred down here as I live here and it is just easier. I am quite lucky in the sense that my only reason for having IVF is because I have blocked tubes - all the other bits are working and we got pregnant first time. As for acupuncture - I've been recommended Acupuncture Gold Coast @ Robina (they are just near the train station). I'm going on Saturday for morning sickness/energy levels etc. I've also got a gf who has been seeing Toni Maree Best @ Mudgeeraba and another who sees Lyn Li @ Southport - 5591 6955. All three deal with IVF/Fertility issues. The girls have been seeing them for awhile. The one that goes to Lyn Li is now pregnant and the other is having her transfer today.

Trace - Out of my 15 eggies we had 2 frozen (one of them is identical twins!! - that is def for a very rainy day!!!).

    Kate

    Hi ladies

Apolgising for TMI! Well I've had a bit of a complication. Monday I had my BT and as I was leaving decided to use the bathroom. When I did a big gush of bright red blood came out. Instantly thought I was having a miscarriage. Ran back into the FS and they quickly got a nurse. I've been on bed rest since. No more bright red blood after the toilet incident but by the time I got home I was cramping and the blood turned dark red and then brown and eased to spotting. No more cramps but of course we thought the worst. Had a scan yesterday to see if there was anything there still and yes we can see the gestational sac. He could also see where the bleeding was coming from in my uterus so hopefully it will heal up soon. My BT from Monday came back great. HCG 11983 so if it wasn't for the bleed we would be so happy. Another BT Friday to see what is happening and scan Tuesday to see if there is a heart beat. We are just taking it day by day as it can go either way.

    Sorry for the depressing post.

Hope everyone else is doing great!!

    Morning Ladies

Kate – Good luck for your blood test tomorrow!! I’m glad your bloating has gone down, it’s horrible feeling bloated. How’s your sickness?

Trace – Aww I’m sorry Kate is feeling all emotional, but she sounds lucky to have you to give her all the cuddles she needs. The ups and downs are so tough on everyone involved. I find that on the progynova I can be pretty aggressive, however don’t want to jinx myself but haven’t found that this time round (DH is very happy with that LOL), however I have found that between 3 and 5 I can’t sleep, I’m so tired but just can’t fall asleep, not sure if that is the steroids?? As for my FET date will find out next Tuesday when it is!!

Sandy – Hi and welcome!! I’m really sorry to hear about your miscarriage. How are you doing? I see Dr Ong at Monash IVF, which a few of us here do, and so far I think we have had four BFP’s?!But I’ve also heard of good results from some of the other clinics, you just need to find the right for you – sorry I know that doesn’t really help! I also see an acupuncturist in Coomera, who is studying to be a midwife, she is so lovely, and the acupuncture has really helped regulate my cycles. Are you starting a new cycle this month?

Kristin – Oh hun I am so sorry about your bleed, that must have been terrifying. I am glad that you haven’t had anymore, and hopefully knowing where the bleed is coming from helped ease your worry. Your HCG sounds great though , I’m keeping everything crossed for you. Hope you have lots of happy films to watch while you’re on bed rest!!

AFM – I’m happy just pill popping away, no side effects apart from being awake between 3 and 5 in the morning, so can’t complain. Have an appt on Tuesday to check lining, and will find out when the transfer date will be from there. DH and I are deciding whether to transfer one or two, we had decided on two after three failed cycles, but now are wavering. Do you girls have any thoughts?

Sandy - hello! I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I hope your next cycle is a successful one. I'm with Dr Ong at Monash and my DH and I think he is fantastic. I also have acupuncture with Colleen Griffiths at Paradise Point.

Trace - sorry to hear Kate is having a tough time. Hoping this is the last time you have to go through this. It's great that you have a few things happening this cycle to help take your mind off things!!

Jen - happy pill popping!! Good luck for Tuesday. Hope it goes well and your uterus is looking good for your transfer. We discussed having 2 embryos put back this cycle after getting a BFN on our second cycle but decided to do 1 again and if it didn't work then we would try 2. So if things in the next few days unfortunately not work out I think our next cycle we will do 2. We are lucky we have a few on ice still. Have you asked Dr Ong what his thoughts are?

Kate - how are you feeling? Good luck for your BT tomorrow! Hope your pregnancy is smooth sailing and your sickness goes away soon. Wow! You have twins on ice! Amazing that they could tell!!

AFM - getting a bit bored laying in bed. Hoping my BT on Friday will give us some positive news.

Enjoy the rest of your day

    Hello beautiful ladies,

TK – Oh no! I can’t believe that there are problems getting the sperm. I cannot believe the government can change the law like that when you are in the middle of things. It should apply for new couples attempting to conceive, not couples that have already embarked on the journey. Hopefully you won’t have to worry about it and will get your BFP before you run out. We are also going through QFG, although Gold Coast division. We have found them to be really good – very supportive. Yes, we are doing the same cycle that Kate is on. Am just waiting to get AF which I am hoping will be the next few days. I cannot believe that it hasn’t com yet. I had the last few years with my AF everyday (so I must admit it has been lovely to have my cycle regulated and a break – I think I should have had shares in tampons!) and when I want it to come it isn’t here! UGH! How is Kate feeling now?

Hopefuljen – You always make me feel so welcome. My job is quite demanding so I don’t always get the change to log on each night (often have to work late nights). So please don’t feel that I am not interested in how everyone is fairing. What are the Coles muffins called? They sound AMAZING! Yum. I have the biggest sweet tooth which often strikes at night when I finally get to sit on the couch... not so good for the hips though. That is wonderful news about your AF arriving. So what is the turnaround time for you? I imagine it would be a lot less than a normal cycle. Aw I love my pajamas too! DH brought me some new ones when I went to hospital in October last year – so warm and comfortable. I have always thought that if I was allowed to that I would transfer 2 just to give us a better chance. I always figure that someone (a higher power that is) has a plan for us and if it is meant to be then it is meant to be. If you end up with twins then you will be fine. Just my thoughts though. I live in Upper Coomera, do you mind if I ask where your acupuncturist is?

Kate – Hope all is well with you still. Glad your bloating has subsided and you are feeling better. Thank you for the info (although I know it wasn’t for just me) on the acupuncturist. I haven’t tried it before but if it is supposed to help then I will try anything. Goodluck with your BT tomorrow.

Kristen – Wow – you have been through a traumatic time haven’t you. I am glad to hear that things are more positive though. Hopefully all will be well.

Sandy – Welcome. I am terribly sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I hope you have taken some time for yourself. It’s a huge thing that we are all putting our bodies through. I will keep your fingers crossed for your next cycle though. I see Dr Bopp at QFG.

AFM, as I have already said, I am just waiting patiently for my AF. I may have to speak with Hopefuljen to see what those tribal moves are and borrow them! Hopefully it will come soon. It is so nice hearing about all the BFP's in the room. Gives me hope that this cycle may be the one. Sorry for my long post tonight but there was so much to catch up on xxx

    Hi all

Sandy - welcome to the site. We am at QFG on the GC too. We see Dr Flynn and find him just great. There are a few of us QFG girls on here by the sounds of it. We probably sit in the waiting room together without knowing it!! My Kate also had a miscarriage after our first round of IVF. It is just so heartbreaking. I am so sorry you experienced that too. Sending you hugs and strength and hoping the next round is the one for you

Calli - we only have to go through brisbane for the donor sperm and they send it to the GC. The donor issues are the thing that stresses me the most - I figure we could emotionally and financially keep going until it happens but without a donor it kind of makes it impossible. We talked to some friends a year or so ago about being a known donor but it just didn't turn out to be an option for us. Hope AF arrives soon so you can start round 2. Can I ask how many eggs you got in round 1? Did u just get the one embryo through to day 5?

Kristin - Spotting and bleeding in pregnancy is so scary. I'm glad you were at the clinic when it happened and that they could get you in for a scan to give you some reassurance. Your levels are really great so hopefully all will be ok!! Make the most of your bed rest and let us know how things go on Friday. Thinking of you

Hopefuljen - hope those side effects stay away this time round - makes life fun though doesn't it (ha) I'd be inclined to put 2 embryo's in but that's just because I so desperately want a family and am not very good with the whole patience thing.

Mustang KT - that's so great you have some snow babies. Amazing about the twins!! Hope your results today come up good.

    Hey girls..

    Hope you are all well..

Kristin – Hope everything goes well tomorrow!! Bed rest is always horrible when it’s not your choice, but at least today you’re not missing out on any nice weather. Thanks for your thoughts on 2 embryos, it’s nice to get others opinions! Dr O said it was my choice, but he said I was high risk of multiples, DH and I decided last night that we will try for 2 this cycle.... fingers crossed!

Calli – Never worry about not coming on every day, I can as I have quite a bit of time on my hands while looking for a job, want to swap? Haha! Umm the muffins were just coles muffins in the bakery section of the Helensvale coles!! I has the blueberry ones, so lush, but they do chocolate and caramel ones!!! From what I remember frozen cycles do kind of flyby, but think it’s only a few days shorter than a regular cycle (saying that I have short stim cycles unlike you and Kate I think). Thanks also for your thoughts on the 2 embryos, they are very similar to mine actually (ie. The higher power and what is meant to be will be). Hey I live in Upper Coomera too!!!! I see Annatalie at Gold Coast Acupuncture, Coomera, she only works Tuesdays and Thursdays, but she does evenings on both those days. She is so lovely, easy to talk to, and caring!! Hope your AF comes soon!

Kate – Good luck with your blood test today!!

Trace – Hope you and Kate are doing well, and Kate isn’t suffering with horrible side effects! I'm a bit emotional but that's all good and way better than PSYCHOTIC!! Haha!! Thanks, I think 2 is the go - Eeeeek!

    Hi girls,

Results from blood tests just in:

HCG 3988 (it was 175 just one week ago)
    Progresteron 352

    7 week scan 13th June!

The nurse was super happy with results and said they are extraordinarily high! Guess the timing was just right this time or I'm going to have a super baby (My hubby is over 6 foot with size 13 feet!!)
She also asked if I knew I was pregnant (prior to first blood test). I said they only reason I suspected I might be was because my dog was acting really weird (he was being overally protective and sooky with me). She then proceeded to tell me all her dog stories!!! Haha the nurses there are so nice (at QFG).

Hope everyone is doing ok waiting, pill popping and jabbing. Kristin I hope the bleeding was just a rare occurrence and doesn't mean anything. My gf (who is pregnant naturally) had dark brown discharge from week 6-9 (she had previously miscarried at week 9) but now she is at wee 14 and all is ok. She has scans every 2 weeks just to make sure. Maybe this is something you could do to make sure all is ok and calm any fears??

Hope you all have a lovely afternoon. I'm back to pilates tonight but really could go home to bed!!

    Kate

Awesome news Kate!! They are good results.

I can't believe you didn't do any HPT's. We are shocking and can't help ourselves. Usually do one every day from about 5 days after embryo transfer (ha). I suspect we will do the same again this round. One of my friends even bought me a box for my birthday because she knows how many we go through. Yep, shockers.

I didn't have any in the house and refused to buy any!! I thought I'd remove all temptation... plus I didn't want to play with my emotional state! This gig is hard enough as it is!!!

I am considering getting some now though just so I can see those two little lines once in my life!
